Radio Caracol’s annual Premios Copa Dorada (Golden Cup Awards) is a sports awards banquet created to honor the top Hispanic athletes in South Florida. The Copa Dorada has been a staple in our community since 1988, honoring approximately 50-70 local athletes each year; it’s main goal being to recognize the athletic achievements of the best youth talent in our community. Some professional athletes who have participated in the past include: Edgar Renteria, Alex Rodriguez, Dennis Martinez, Alex Fernandez, Andres Galarraga, Cookie Rojas, Roberto Duran, Hector Camacho, Joel Casamayor, Ralph Ortega, Carlos Huerta, Mario Cristobal and many more! The presence of these celebrities along with the support of our local community and sponsors has helped shaped the Copa Dorada into one of the most successful community events in Miami.
