Why do kids experiment with drugs?
There are many reasons—curiosity, boredom, peer pressure, stress, or simply wanting to fit in.

When we understand the why, we can meet them with empathy, open conversations, and support. Our kids don’t need perfection from us, they need connection, presence, and guidance. 💛

Save and share to spread awareness.
We’re in this together. 🌱

The Dry 28 is a challenge during the month of February with one simple rule: no alcohol.
This challenge is more than just saying no to alcohol. It’s a chance to let your body reset and show you how quickly it can bounce back.

In just four weeks, many people notice real, evidence-based changes such as: deeper sleep, improved liver and metabolic function, clearer skin, steadier mood, and sharper mental clarity. It’s proof that the body adapts fast when we remove what weighs it down.

But the challenge isn’t only physical, it also invites reflection: How do I feel without alcohol? What habits shift? What did I learn?

By the end of February, the win isn’t perfection; it’s awareness. It’s getting data on your own body and seeing how good you’re capable of feeling in 28 days.

Narcan (naloxone) is a proven, life-saving medication that can reverse an opioid overdose within minutes. Overdose emergencies can happen anywhere (in homes, schools, workplaces, and public spaces) and often to people we would never expect. Narcan is safe, easy to use, and requires no medical training. When someone stops breathing, immediate action makes the difference between life and death.

As a community, we all have a role to play in prevention. Carrying Narcan is not about enabling substance use, it’s about saving lives, reducing harm, and giving individuals a chance to pursue recovery and support. When access and education increase, stigma decreases, and more families keep their loved ones. Every life saved is another opportunity for healing and connection. 🫶

January is Substance Use Disorder Treatment Month 🤍

Finding treatment isn’t always easy. Long waitlists, limited insurance coverage, transportation challenges, stigma, and a shortage of local providers can turn a brave step toward recovery into an overwhelming journey. Too often, people ready for help encounter closed doors instead of support. Yet recovery is possible. Treatment works, and there is no one-size-fits-all path to healing. Whether it’s outpatient care, residential treatment, peer support, medication-assisted treatment, or counseling, the right path looks different for everyone. What matters most is access, compassion, and the belief that recovery is achievable.

This month, we invite our community to learn about available resources, advocate for expanded access to care, and remind those who are struggling that they are not alone and help is available.
✨ Treatment works. Find the path that works for you.

Today, we pause to honor and thank the dedicated law enforcement officers who work each day tirelessly to protect and serve our communities. Your commitment, bravery, and willingness to step into difficult situations make a meaningful difference in the lives of families across Miami-Dade.

Coalición Esperanza deeply values the partnerships we share with local agencies as we work together to build safer, healthier communities, especially in our efforts to prevent substance misuse and support youth and families.

To all the officers who show up with integrity, compassion, and courage:
Thank you. We appreciate you today and every day.
