Last week, our team joined housing leaders from across Florida at the Florida Housing Coalition's 2026 REPAIR Conference in Orlando.

We enjoyed connecting with industry professionals, exchange ideas, and discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping affordable housing programs today.

It was also great to connect with Florida Housing Finance Corporation and engage in conversations about expanding housing opportunities across the state.

We're excited to keep the conversation going at upcoming industry events and connect with even more housing leaders and partners in the months ahead.

Day 1 of the 2026 REPAIR Conference is well underway, bringing together housing professionals from across Florida to discuss some of the state's most important housing priorities.

The day began with training sessions, followed by the Opening Plenary featuring a welcome from Florida Housing Coalition leadership, an inspiring keynote from Dr. Derreck Kayongo, and recognition of housing leaders making a difference across Florida.

As the conference continues, we're excited to connect with housing leaders, learn from industry experts, and discover new ways to help organizations strengthen communities across the state.

We'd also like to congratulate this year's award recipients and recognize the incredible work they do for individuals, families, and communities throughout Florida.

Thank you to Florida Housing Coalition for organizing this event and to Florida Housing Finance Corporation for sponsoring these educational sessions that bring important housing conversations to the forefront and help advance housing solutions throughout Florida.

The Florida Hometown Heroes Program is back! Florida Housing is excited to announce the official launch of this year’s Hometown Heroes Housing Program! What a fantastic start to the 2026 FALHFA Conference! 💫

Today's opening session, led by Kathryn Driver, set the tone for what promises to be an outstanding few days of learning, collaboration, and innovation across Florida's housing finance community. Kathryn covered a range of timely and impactful topics, challenging us to think strategically about the future of affordable housing and the opportunities ahead.

We also had the privilege of hearing insightful discussions moderated by Sue Denihan, who guided meaningful conversations around the issues that matter most to housing finance agencies, program administrators, lenders, developers, and our industry partners.
One of the greatest strengths of the FALHFA Conference is the opportunity to bring together professionals who are passionate about expanding housing opportunities and finding creative solutions to today's challenges. The Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Budget marks the fourth straight year Florida has reduced its budget. We have large reserves and a full rainy day fund—more than triple the size from when I took office. We’ve paid down historic debt instead of passing the burden to future generations.

The State of Florida has built a strong fiscal foundation because we manage taxpayers’ money responsibly. Florida’s per capita spending is one of the lowest in the nation. We have the fewest state employees per capita in the nation.

We’ve achieved high levels of fiscal responsibility while also reducing taxes and making historic investment in infrastructure, education and Everglades restoration. In short, it can be done!
