Hope for Autism Team

The Hope for Autism Community Team was founded in 1999 by our team captain, Marianela Alvarez.

A mother with the courage and vision to not accept a diagnosis of autism without making the commitment to help move forward her 2 year old son, Gabriel P. Alvarez

She become not only the voice of her own child, but the voice of many other children with autism and others disabilities in her community. The Hope for Autism team has become a large family itself of children with autism and their corresponding family members and friends with the main purpose of educating parents, advocating for the children's rights and creating activities oriented to include our special children into society.

Once again, we would like to express our most sincere gratitude to Mayor’s Cafe of Miami Lakes. ❤️
Today, we proudly picked up a $500 donation check, representing 20% of the proceeds from our fundraiser held this past Friday, September 11th.
Our gratitude is genuine, and the impact this support has on our local autism community is even greater.
This was much more than a fundraiser. It was a beautiful social experience for our families and our children. It was an evening where one of our wonderful sponsors worked hand-in-hand with us to create a welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for everyone.
Our families came together knowing they could relax, enjoy wonderful food, and simply spend time with people who understand one another. The waitstaff and kitchen team were incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive, always doing their best to accommodate our children and families.
There was laughter, conversation, friendship, and of course, delicious food! From the amazing cheeseburgers to the enormous chicken sandwiches, everything was absolutely delicious!
For many of our families, daily life can sometimes be challenging and stressful. Having the opportunity to sit together, enjoy dinner, laugh, talk, and feel completely accepted in an inclusive environment is truly priceless.
To all the owners and employees of Mayor’s Cafe, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You left such a positive impression on our families, and we truly hope we can do this again next year!
And there is even more to be thankful for! In addition to the $500 donation, which will be used toward one of our Hope for Autism Community Group’s free activities for our families, Mayor’s Cafe is also generously donating $200 in gift cards in support of our Hope for Autism “A Night in Paris” 19th Annual Gala.
Your generosity, kindness, and commitment to our autism community mean more than words can express.
