A Legacy That Lasts
Scripture:
"As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." — Joshua 24:15
At the end of Joshua's life, he was not focused on possessions, accomplishments, or status.
He was focused on faithfulness.
One day each of us will leave behind a legacy. The question is not whether we will leave one, but what kind of legacy it will be.
The greatest gift we can leave our children and grandchildren is not wealth but a consistent example of following Jesus Christ.
A faith worth following becomes a legacy worth leaving.
Application:
Consider the people who know you best. What would they say matters most in your life?
Prayer:
Lord, help me live in such a way that my life points others to You. May the legacy I leave be one of faithfulness, love, and devotion to Christ. Amen.

Faith at Home
Scripture:
"But as for me and my house..." — Joshua 24:15
Joshua understood that faith was not meant to stay private.
His commitment to God would influence his household.
Whether you are a parent, grandparent, spouse, or friend, people are watching your example. They are learning from your priorities, your habits, and your response to life's challenges.
No one expects perfection. But God does call us to faithfulness.
A faith worth following is first lived at home.
Application:
Identify one practical way you can encourage spiritual growth in your family today. Pray together, read Scripture together, or share what God is teaching you.
Prayer:
Father, help me model genuine faith in my home. May those closest to me see Christ in the way I live. Amen.

Choose This Day
Scripture:
"Choose you this day whom ye will serve..." — Joshua 24:15
Every day we make choices that shape our lives.
We choose what we will prioritize.
We choose what we will believe.
We choose whom we will obey.
Joshua reminded Israel that neutrality is not an option. Everyone serves something. The question is whether we will serve the Lord or allow something else to rule our lives.
Faith is more than good intentions. It requires a decision.
Application:
Today, consciously choose to honor Christ in your words, attitudes, and actions.
Prayer:
Lord, help me choose You again today. Strengthen my resolve to follow You faithfully regardless of the pressures around me. Amen.

Tuesday Devotional 06162026
Removing the Rivals
Scripture:
"Put away the gods which your fathers served..." — Joshua 24:14
Israel's idols were made of wood, stone, and metal.
Our idols often look different.
Anything that takes God's rightful place in our hearts becomes an idol. Success, comfort, money, entertainment, approval, and even good things can become competitors for our devotion.
Joshua didn't tell Israel to manage their idols. He told them to remove them.
A faith worth following is not a divided faith. It is a wholehearted faith.
Application:
What consistently competes for your attention, affection, or obedience? Ask God to reveal any modern idols in your life.
Prayer:
Father, show me anything that has taken Your place in my heart. Give me the courage to put away every rival and worship You alone. Amen.

A Faith That Begins With Reverence
Scripture:
"Now therefore fear the LORD..." — Joshua 24:14
The foundation of a faith worth following is a proper view of God.
The fear of the Lord is not being afraid of God; it is standing in awe of Him. It is recognizing that He is holy, powerful, wise, and worthy of our complete devotion.
Before Joshua called Israel to choose whom they would serve, he reminded them to fear the Lord. Why? Because our choices are shaped by what we value most.
If God is merely an addition to our lives, our faith will be weak. But if God is the center of our lives, our faith will influence everyone around us.
Application:
What does your daily schedule reveal about what you value most? Does your life reflect a reverence for God?
Prayer:
Lord, help me see You as You truly are. Fill my heart with reverence and awe so that my life points others to You. Amen.

Friday Devotional 06122026
The Right Response to Conviction
Acts 8:22
"Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God..."
Peter's message to Simon was simple: repent.
Repentance is not merely feeling bad about sin.
Repentance is turning from sin and turning toward God.
Every believer continues to need repentance. As God reveals pride, selfishness, bitterness, or disobedience, we respond by confessing and surrendering those areas to Him.
Repentance is not a sign of failure.
It is evidence that God is still working in our hearts.
The healthiest Christians are not those who never sin; they are those who quickly repent when they do.
Reflection Question:
What is one area where God may be calling me to repent today?
Prayer:
Father, give me a humble heart that responds quickly when You convict me of sin.

Grace Cannot Be Purchased
Acts 8:20
"Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money."
One of the greatest truths of the gospel is that salvation is a gift.
It cannot be earned.
It cannot be bought.
It cannot be deserved.
Every religion of the world tells people what they must do to reach God.
The gospel announces what Christ has already done for us.
Jesus paid the price we could never pay.
Because of His death and resurrection, salvation is offered freely to all who believe.
Grace is not cheap—it cost Jesus everything.
But it is freely given.
Reflection Question:
Do I sometimes try to earn God's acceptance rather than resting in His grace?
Prayer:
Thank You, Lord, for the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.

God Looks at the Heart
Acts 8:21
"For thy heart is not right in the sight of God."
Simon looked convincing on the outside.
He professed belief.
He was baptized.
He associated with believers.
Yet Peter pointed to the real issue: his heart.
People see outward appearances, but God sees what no one else can see.
This truth can be sobering, but it is also comforting. God knows our struggles, fears, motives, and desires completely.
The goal of the Christian life is not merely outward conformity but inward transformation.
God wants our hearts.
Reflection Question:
Is there an area of my heart that I have not fully surrendered to God?
Prayer:
Lord, search my heart and reveal anything that is not pleasing to You.
