09072026 Monday — Don’t Stop at Conversion
Scripture: Matthew 28:19–20
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations… Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…”
When we think about missions and evangelism, we naturally think about people coming to faith in Christ. And we should! There is no greater news than the gospel of Jesus Christ.
But Jesus never told His church simply to make converts. He commanded us to make disciples.
A disciple is someone who not only believes in Jesus but is learning to follow Jesus. That means our responsibility to someone does not end when that person trusts Christ. In many ways, it is just beginning.
New believers need encouragement. They need biblical instruction. They need Christian relationships. They need examples to follow. They need a church family that will walk alongside them as they grow.
A missionary-minded church therefore asks two questions:
“How can we reach people for Christ?”
And then:
“How can we help those people become mature followers of Christ?”
The Great Commission requires both.
Think About It:
Who has God placed in your life whom you could help take another step toward spiritual maturity?
Prayer:
Lord, give me a heart not only to see people come to Christ, but also to help them grow in Christ. Help me become the kind of disciple who can help make other disciples. Amen.

TAKE THE NEXT STEP 07142026
Acts 10:19–20
“Arise therefore, go down and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them.”
Peter still didn’t completely understand what God was doing.
He was still thinking about the vision when the men sent by Cornelius arrived at his door.
God didn’t explain everything to Peter.
He simply told him:
Go.
Sometimes we want God to show us the entire plan before we obey.
But God often gives us enough light to take the next step.
Maybe your next step is to make a phone call.
Walk across the street.
Invite someone to church.
Sit down with someone over a cup of coffee.
Share your testimony.
Ask someone how you can pray for them.
Begin a gospel conversation.
You don’t have to know how the conversation will end before you begin it.
Peter obeyed—and God used his obedience to bring the gospel into the home of Cornelius.
Ask yourself today:
What is one step of obedience I already know God wants me to take?
Then take it.
You don’t need to understand step ten to obey step one.
Read Acts 10:17–23

WHO IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE? 07132026
Acts 10:28
“God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.”
God was preparing Cornelius to hear the gospel.
But God was also preparing Peter to share it.
Peter had barriers that God needed to confront.
We can have them too.
Sometimes they involve culture.
Sometimes social class.
Sometimes politics.
Sometimes someone’s reputation.
Sometimes it is simply that a person makes us uncomfortable.
We can say, “Everybody needs Jesus,” while quietly avoiding certain people.
The gospel does not tell us that truth no longer matters or that sin no longer matters.
But it does tell us that there is no kind of person who does not need to hear about Jesus.
So ask God an uncomfortable question today:
“Lord, is there anyone I have decided is not worth reaching?”
Then ask Him to change your heart.
If everybody needs Jesus, we must be willing to take Jesus to anybody.
Read Acts 10:9–16, 28

RELIGION CANNOT REPLACE REDEMPTION 07122026
Acts 10:2
Cornelius was “a devout man and one who feared God.”
He prayed.
He gave generously.
He influenced his family toward God.
By almost every human standard, Cornelius was a good, religious man.
But he still needed to hear the gospel.
That is an important reminder because it is possible to know about God, attend church, pray, give, be baptized, and try to live a good life without ever personally trusting Jesus Christ for salvation.
Our good works cannot remove our sin.
Our religious background cannot make us right with God.
We need Jesus.
Jesus died for our sins and rose again, and forgiveness and eternal life are offered to everyone who turns to Him in faith.
Ask yourself today:
Am I trusting in what I have done for God—or in what Jesus Christ has done for me?
Cornelius didn’t need to become more religious. He needed Jesus.
Read Acts 10:1–8; Acts 11:13–14

GOD MAY ALREADY BE WORKING 08112026
Acts 10:1–4
Before Peter ever met Cornelius, God was already at work in Cornelius’s life.
Peter didn’t know his name. He didn’t know where he lived. He didn’t know that Cornelius was praying and seeking God.
But God did.
That should change the way we think about sharing our faith.
Sometimes we hesitate because we assume someone won’t listen. We think they aren’t interested in spiritual things or are too far from God.
But what if God has already been working in their heart?
You may not be starting the conversation between that person and God. You may simply be the person God sends into a conversation He has already started.
Think about it:
Who have you assumed would not be interested in hearing about Jesus?
Pray for that person today and ask God to give you an opportunity to speak.
You don’t have to manufacture a divine appointment. You just have to be available when God creates one.
Read Acts 10:1–8
