1. Baby latches (attaches to the breast)

When your baby latches and starts sucking, it sends signals to your body.

2. Your body makes & releases milk

Two main hormones do the work:

Prolactin → makes the milk
Oxytocin → releases the milk (this is called the let-down)
3. Baby drinks the milk

Milk flows through tiny tubes (milk ducts) to your ni**le, and your baby drinks it.

Breast milk actually changes during a single feeding! At the beginning, it’s more watery (called foremilk) to help quench baby’s thirst. As the feeding continues, it becomes richer and creamier (hindmilk), packed with fat to help baby feel full and gain weight.

So basically—your body is making a customized drink and meal at the same time 🍼
