Happy 100th Birthday to the one and only Dick Van D**e

A full century of life, laughter, and legacy. From Mary Poppins to The Dick Van D**e Show, from Broadway stages to television screens, Dick Van D**e didn’t just entertain us—he shaped the very language of theater and TV.

He brought heart, physical comedy, impeccable timing, and genuine joy to every role, proving that kindness and humor could coexist with brilliance. Generations of performers learned how to move, sing, dance, and be human by watching him.

His work reminds us that storytelling matters, that laughter heals, and that art can live far beyond its moment.

Thank you, Dick Van D**e, for 100 years of inspiration and a legacy that will continue to raise the curtain for generations to come

Fine Arts on Main Reflects with Gratitude as Operations Come to a Close

Farmersville, TX — May 19, 2025 — Fine Arts on Main, a beloved creative space located in the heart of downtown Farmersville, extends its deepest gratitude to the countless individuals and businesses who have supported its mission over the years. Despite tireless efforts and the incredible generosity shown during recent fundraising efforts, the funding necessary to sustain operations long-term was not secured.

“It wasn’t for lack of trying,” said Executive Director Gwen Mae. “We are incredibly thankful for the outpouring of support from our community. I’m proud of what we built together. Fine Arts on Main became more than a performance space — it became a family.”

Since opening its doors, Fine Arts on Main has been home to actors, musicians, artists, and audiences of all ages. Through stage productions, community events, and outreach, it brought joy, connection, and creativity to Farmersville and beyond. Mae reflected on the impact: “The testimonials we’ve received — stories of confidence gained, friendships formed, and lives changed — brought me to tears more than once. I’m honored to have been part of that.”

While the curtain may be closing for now, there remains hope that the story isn’t over. “Maybe one day,” Mae added, “Fine Arts on Main will receive the consistent support it needs to bring productions back to life in a new space.”

For now, the organization looks back with pride on all that was accomplished and forward with optimism about what may come next.
