Another amazing week of saving lives, one spay, neuter, vaccination, and transport at a time. 🐾
At Merced TNR, we are continually humbled by the incredible support of our community. None of this would be possible without our dedicated volunteers, veterinary partners, sponsors, rescuers, and compassionate community members who step up every day to make a difference for animals in need.
Every pet that is spayed or neutered helps prevent future suffering. Every vaccination protects a life. Every transport opens the door to a brighter future. Together, we are creating lasting change and helping address the overwhelming population of cats and dogs in our community through prevention, education, and action.
We encourage everyone to continue following our journey and to sign up for our upcoming spay/neuter and vaccination clinics. The most effective way to reduce animal homelessness is through responsible pet care and prevention.

When someone says “𝙄 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚.”
Honestly?
𝙉𝙚𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙙𝙤 𝙬𝙚.
Nobody involved in TNR in Merced has extra time sitting around.
😪 The people trapping cats after working all day?
Tired.
😪 The people waking up every hour checking traps through the night?
Tired.
😪 The people driving before sunrise to spay and neuter appointments?
Tired.
😪 The people answering messages while juggling work, kids, bills, rescues, and their own struggles?
Tired.
𝗡𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 “𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲” 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.
People simply decide something matters enough to make room for it.
That’s what so many people do not understand about TNR.
Every ear-tipped cat you see in Merced?
𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.
❗ Somebody rearranged their entire schedule
❗ Somebody lost sleep
❗ Somebody spent their own gas money
❗ Somebody trapped in the heat
❗ Somebody learned how to help
❗ Somebody drove across counties
❗ Somebody felt overwhelmed and exhausted
❗ Somebody wanted to quit
…𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘄𝗮𝘆.
Because once you truly SEE the suffering, it becomes impossible to ignore it.
This work is not carried by people with unlimited time, money, or energy.
It is carried by ordinary people making one simple decision:
“Someone has to do something… so let it be me.”
That mindset is the reason Merced TNR continues to save lives.
Not because it’s easy.
Not because we aren’t exhausted.
But because these cats still matter.
The people changing this community are not superheroes.
They are ordinary, burnt-out, compassionate people who decided the “unwanted” and “unowned” cats deserved a chance too.
And that is how change happens.
