$632,229!!!!! 🎉

That is the amount of tax refunds processed by our VITA team this season!

Over half a million dollars went back into our community through free tax preparation and assistance. That means families have more resources for rent, groceries, transportation, savings, and the things that matter most.

Our team worked incredibly hard, and this impact is an amazing gift to our neighbors.

THANK YOU, team!!! 👏❤️

Hi friends, we could use your help! LifeLine Community Development Corporation, the organization I lead, is low on funds and could use your help! It takes $1,500/day to run LifeLine. Would you please consider making a donation to help? Help us to empower under-resourced neighborhoods to thrive.

“Your life story is not your life sentence.”Monika Grasley knows of which she speaks. As a child in post-World-War-II Germany, her homelife was marked by violence and poverty. By 13, she’d left school and was homeless. But three years later, a chance encounter with a stranger led her to a Chri...

Today I am working at the McNamara Community Center. While I sit in the office, I hear 12 young people reading a book together, eating nachos, doing homework, having fun, and doing a project.

In a world filled with shootings and where children have to fear that their parents won't come home from work, this is a safe place for youth to expand their minds in a safe environment.

They learn to be respectful youth and will one day be powerful adults. see more

We (Jim and Monika) are coming home from a trip to Alaska, now sitting in the Seattle airport waiting for our flight home. I love sitting here and watching people. I love watching the variety of people, their mode of dress, the various skin colors, the many languages that are spoken here. It so reflects who America is, a country with immigrants, all looking for opportunities to move forward. Some came 2000+ years ago, others just recently. For each person it was a process, an arduous journey. The first came in hope of a better future, more opportunities, and freedom, and that still is the case today. MLK Jr had a dream for all of us, for justice and mercy. Today you and I have to make decisions that either help this dream become a reality or let things stand as they are.
For me personally, I am thankful to be in America. For me it meant opportunities that I could not have in Germany. I contribute, I care, I have impact. I try not to be a burden to this country. I am a person who wants to make a difference, and I think that is the case for most people living in this country. Let’s keep dreaming, let’s keep living out Micah 6:8 to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God.
