WIMA IS HIRING — PEER SUPPORT STAFF

Wisconsin Meaningful Alternatives (WIMA) is growing, and we are looking for compassionate, dependable, and authentic individuals to join our Peer Support team.

Pay: $17.50–$18.50/hour, depending on position and shift.

We are currently looking for Peer Support Staff to work across several of our programs:

• Monarch House Peer Run Respite — Menomonie

• Kaleidoscope Peer Resource Center — Menomonie

• Eau Claire Peer Recovery Center — Eau Claire

• Mobile Outreach Peer Support — community-based services

At WIMA, we believe in the power of lived experience, human connection, mutuality, and meeting people exactly where they are. We aren't here to fix people or tell them what their recovery or wellness should look like. We walk alongside people, listen without judgment, and create spaces where people can feel heard, valued, and connected.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for people who:

• Believe in the value of peer support and lived experience

• Can build genuine and mutual relationships with others

• Respect self-determination and each person's individual path

• Are comfortable supporting people through difficult or challenging moments

• Bring empathy, curiosity, patience, and authenticity to their work

• Are dependable and able to work both independently and as part of a team

• Are passionate about building connection and community

• Understand that sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply be present and listen

Peer Support Staff work directly with individuals in a variety of settings. Depending on the program and position, responsibilities may include providing one-on-one peer support, facilitating connection and activities at our recovery centers, supporting guests at our Peer Run Respite, providing community-based outreach, connecting people with resources, and helping create welcoming spaces where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification is valued, but we also encourage individuals with relevant lived experience who are interested in becoming part of the peer support workforce to apply.
