For Farmer Morgan Hess, farming is deeply rooted in place. He grew up in this area, and today, alongside his parents and his own kids, he’s building a family farm on local land—keeping a connection to the land alive for another generation.

Morgan especially loves working with farm-to-table chefs like Chef Zach, who get excited about what’s coming out of the field—especially the fresh, sometimes hard-to-find produce that can inspire a special dish.

That connection—from farmer to chef to table—is at the heart of Schiff’s 8th Annual Farm to Table Dinner.

And this evening is about more than a beautiful meal. Funds raised from the dinner directly support Schiff’s work to protect and preserve local land, care for its forests and habitats, and keep these natural spaces here for generations to come.

Meet Chef Zach Fabian, the chef behind this year’s Schiff Farm to Table Dinner.

Inspired by what’s growing right here in our region, Chef Zach is creating a seasonal menu featuring beautiful ingredients from our local farms and inspired by the landscape around us.

A truly unforgettable setting awaits...

Set among the rolling hills of the Morris County countryside, Hacklebarney Farm C***r Mill has been owned and lovingly operated by five generations of the Pitney family since the mid-1800s. Rich in agricultural tradition and heritage, it remains one of New Jersey’s last working heritage c***r mills and orchards.

We are honored and deeply grateful to partner with Hacklebarney Farm as, for the first time, the gates of this remarkable farm open for an intimate evening celebrating conservation, local agriculture, and community all in support of Schiff Natural Lands Trust for our 8th Annual Farm to Table Benefit Dinner on Friday, September 25th.

We’re getting excited for the final concert of our 2026 Music in the Woods series on September 6, featuring Hoboken favorite Widely Grown!

Guests should arrive by 3:30 PM for the 30-minute uphill walk to our outdoor Amphitheatre. BYOB, snacks, and something comfy to sit on! Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome.
