Highlighting Blue on National Cat Day
Blue was seen outside of a local apartment complex months ago. He was friendly, affectionate, and won the hearts of the community. Though a welcomed sight in the garden, he remained intact, unvaccinated and outdoors.
Blue faced weather, predators, and speeding cars. On top of the natural behavior to have potentially impregnated dozens of females, in just a few months.
Recently, a neighbor called Animal Control after fearing he was trapped in the storm drain. He was fine, and a plan was made to trap him the next day. We asked around, but all leads fell short of actual ownership. He was trapped fairly quickly and transported back to our shelter. We scanned him for a microchip(none) and applied a flea and tick treatment.
He's been loving the attention and settled right in to life at the shelter. He ran through his stray hold, and today, with the support of our non-profit, we were able to get him neutered and vaccinated. He'll be listed for adoption in the coming days.

The Animal Control Supervisor routinely works with local feeders and concerned residents to ensure the sterilization, health, and welfare of outdoor cats in our local area. Give the shelter a call, and we can work together!
In addition, The Randolph Regional Animal Shelter offers a low-cost spay and neuter program for cats (and dogs). You do not have to be local to take advantage of this program!
