As part of our community's 250 celebrations, we're planning the next time capsule and we want your ideas!

What represents 2026? Think about the moments, memories, and mementos that future Mendham residents will enjoy discovering 25 years from now.

Some fun ideas:

🌳 A branch from the July 3, 2026 storm that left much of Mendham without power

What would YOU send to the future? 🕰️

In 2026 the United States turns 250 — and the Rotary Club of the Mendhams is marking the Semiquincentennial by building a Community Time Capsule, a gift to the Mendham of 2051.

We're filling it with your memories, mementos, and messages: a portrait of who we are in this landmark year, sealed away until the nation's 275th. Photos, notes, kids' artwork, local keepsakes — tell us what you think belongs inside.

Here's how to take part:

⭐ SUGGEST IT — Take our two-minute survey and tell us what you'd contribute, and why it matters: tinyurl.com/mendham-time-capsule

⭐ DROP IT OFF — Bring small keepsakes to the Rotary table at the Brookside Fourth of July Parade, Saturday, July 4, 2026 — America's 250th birthday. (Other drop-off options to be announced.)

⭐ WE BURY IT — The capsule will be sealed and buried at Mendham Fest on Saturday, October 3, 2026, to be reopened a generation later in 2051.

A few things to know: keepsakes should be small, durable, and non-perishable. Items stay sealed for 25 years and can't be returned, so please don't include anything irreplaceable.

A child who adds a drawing this summer will be in their thirties when we open it again. Help us seal a piece of our community for the next generation. 🕰️

Stop by the Brookside 4th of July Parade to find out what this mysterious steel cylinder is all about and learn how you can be part of its next chapter.

While you're there, be sure to grab a hot dog after the parade! our Rotarians will be firing up the grill to raise funds for community projects and scholarships. 🌭🇺🇸

SAVE THE DATE 🍷🍎

Raise a Glass to History with the Rotary Club of the Mendhams at the Ralston Cider Mill on September 26 from 5–8 PM.

Proceeds from this fundraising event will benefit Ralston Cider Mill Museum and help raise money for scholarships for local high school seniors and the Mendham Area Senior Housing.

Tickets go on sale in July — follow us to learn more and be the first to know when sales open!

A great Saturday morning of service at India Brook Park for Rotary’s EPIC Day of Service! 🌿💙

Thank you to the Hacklebarney Chapter of Trout Unlimited for hosting us and helping lead invasive species removal efforts as part of the India Brook Restoration Project. We were proud to partner alongside Trout Unlimited, the Master Gardeners, and community volunteers to help care for one of Mendham’s beautiful natural spaces.

While we were excited to host our Pickleball Tournament this spring, we’ve made the decision to postpone the event for now. We’re grateful to everyone who showed interest and supported the effort, and we remain committed to creating a fun, high-energy experience for players of all levels.

We’re already exploring ways to reschedule and reimagine the tournament to make it even bigger and better — so stay tuned! 🏓
