Join us for Teen Talk, a free event focused on creating a welcoming space for learning, open discussion, and meaningful conversations about topics that matter to teens today.

Topics include:

• Healthy relationships
• Positive mental health strategies
• Drug, alcohol, and smoking education
• Sexual and reproductive health education

Tonight’s Night Glow is canceled.

It's here. The 36th Thurston Classic opens tonight with the Joyce Stevens Memorial Night Glow.

Balloons inflate on the field at the Allegheny College Robertson Athletic Complex and glow against the evening sky—and honestly, no matter how many times we've seen it, it still takes our breath away.

Free admission. Food and drinks on site. Bring a blanket, bring a lawn chair, and give yourself time to just enjoy it.

The rest of the weekend:
→ Friday & Saturday evenings: competition balloon launches from the field
→ Saturday & Sunday, 6 AM: morning competition flights - pilots fly in from miles away and drop bean bags at a ground target from their baskets. Come early to grab a good spot.

We'll be there all weekend. Come say hi.

There were 29 lift assists during the month of May. We are proud of Mr. Herbstritt’s students who worked hard to research EMS funding challenges, write a grant proposal, and present their ideas to community leaders. It's great to see young people engaging with real-world issues and developing solutions that can make a difference in our community.

Congratulations to Ms. Carolyn Brown for winning the National Teacher Appreciation NV Donuts Facebook contest. The contest was held across the nation with over 300 locations taking online entries. Meadville had the winning teacher who received the most submissions. Carolyn was awarded a $100 visa gift card and a 90 minute donut and lemonade party. She chose her M**S faculty and staff to share the prize as a fun end of the year celebration. 🎉 🍩🍋 A BIG thank you to Matt and Brooke Feleppa, owners of the local franchise to host the event.

Meadville Middle School Faculty and Staff were treated to a special morning of mini donuts and lemonade on their last day of work for the 25-26 school year!! Pictures to come!

LEAD Lab Winners Announced
At Friday’s 8th Grade Awards Assembly, the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation announced the winners of this year’s LEAD Lab grant competition.
Groups of three students worked collaboratively to write grant proposals and present them to community members the previous week. Their goal: to earn one of two $1,000 grants to support local organizations addressing important community needs.
Housing Initiative Grant: Andee Aitken, Josh Potter, and Andrew Mosley (not pictured) were awarded $1,000 for Common Roots to support the renovation of an apartment on Liberty Street. Their project focused on addressing the housing shortage in Meadville.
Public Safety Initiative Grant: Phoenix Berry, Auriella Powers, and Arwen Bennett received $1,000 for the Meadville Fire Department to help purchase a lift-assist device for fall victims. Their work targeted the need for increased funding and support for local EMS services.
Mr. Herbstritt commends all students for their dedication to improving the community and extends sincere thanks to the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation for their continued support of the LEAD Lab program.
