The next meeting for the Crawford County A.B.A.T.E. Chapter will be June 14th, 2026 at the Meadville Elks Lodge, 11:30am.
Among the items on the agenda will be proposed changes to our chapter by-laws as described below. This change is being proposed to more closely align our Chapter by-laws with the State by-laws (Corporate Operating Procedures) concerning Chapter Meetings and to eliminate conflicting statements.
The State Corporate Operating Procedures (Amended 5/18/2024) state the following:
Article IX Quorum
C) Chapter Meetings
1) A quorum shall be considered as 3/5 of the Chapter's Executive officers (Chapter Coordinator (president), Assistant Chapter Coordinator (vice-president), Secretary, Treasurer, and Legislative Coordinator). Any three of which shall constitute a quorum.
The following proposed changes to the Chapter by-laws will be discussed and voted on at the next meeting.
The Crawford County Chapter by-laws (Amended 8/25/2024) presently state the following:
Subheading: Chapter Meetings, Section B: Membership Meetings:
To be held second Sunday of Each month at 11:00 a.m. or as determined by the Executive Board.
To be held second Sunday of Each month at 11:30 a.m. or as determined by the Executive Board.
Proposed Change: Strike paragraph 1 in its entirety to eliminate the conflict with Paragraph 2.
Subheading: Chapter Meetings, Section B: Membership Meetings (Current Statement)
6. A quorum must exist in order for a meeting to proceed. A quorum shall consist of three (3) Executive officers and five (5) non-executive members.
Proposed Change - 1st Option - (to match State):
6. A quorum shall be considered 3/5 of the Chapter's Executive officers (Chapter Coordinator (president), Assistant Chapter Coordinator (vice-president), Secretary, Treasurer, and Legislative Coordinator). Any three of which shall constitute a quorum.
Proposed Change – 2nd Option:
6. A quorum shall be considered as any 3/5 of the Chapter's Executive officers (Chapter Coordinator (president), Assistant Chapter Coordinator (vice-president), Secretary, Treasurer, and Legislative Coordinator and two (2) non-executive members.
Subheading: Miscellaneous, Section B. Business Affairs:
The Crawford County Chapter by-laws presently State the following:
No business affairs are to be voted on without three (3) Executive Board Members and five (5) non-executive members present at the meeting.
Proposed Change :
No business affairs are to be voted on without a quorum.
Other topics will be discussed as well including upcoming fund raisers and participation in local fairs this season.
