On October 10, the Wegene Kids Club is running the Grand African Run - ግራንድ አፍሪካን ረን to raise funds for our reusable sanitary pad initiative for girls in Ethiopia.

Did you know that some of our Wegene girls in Ethiopia miss school because they don’t have sanitary pads during their periods?

Wegene Youth Club wants to change that.

On October 10, we’re running the Grand African Run to raise $20,000 for reusable sanitary pads made by mothers at our center in Addis.

I watched these mothers make the pads myself. One reusable pad can last up to a year. Something so simple can help a girl stay in school.
