For over 55 years, the Proviso Leyden Council for Community Action (PLCCA) has been a cornerstone of our community, dedicated to "Providing a hand up, not a hand out." Founded in 1968 by the late, great Bishop Dr. Claude Porter, PLCCA has empowered countless individuals and families through education, training, and supportive services. Women’s History Month - A Message from the Behavioral Health Clinic
Each year during Women's History Month, we pause to reflect on the remarkable contributions women have made throughout history and continue to make in our communities today.
Today, we salute our very own President & CEO, Claudette Harrell. With more than 40 years of experience in business management, human resources, customer service, and sales, she brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to her role at Proviso Leyden
Council for Community Action, Inc. (PLCCA), where she has served since 1994.

The Brush Study
Each month, Education Coordinator Marie Viteri assigns a new study for teachers throughout the daycare center to explore with their students. For February, the selected focus was The Brush Study.
Teachers in Classroom 4 introduced their Early Head Start students to a variety of different brushes, including hairbrushes, toothbrushes, and paintbrushes. The teachers discussed the different types of brushes and explained the purpose and uses of each one.
