A.R. wasn’t just searching for a new role — he was looking to provide financial stability for his children. After an unsuccessful search, he was feeling discouraged, and even considered leaving Illinois. But that’s when he connected with Proviso Leyden Council for Community Action Inc - PLCCA , a member of our network.

After connecting with PLCCA’s Employment and Training Services (ETS) Department, A.R. worked closely with staff to pursue employment opportunities. His dedication and resilience paid off: He’s now secured two new roles.

He said he credits the dedicated staff with helping him remain encouraged when he felt like giving up. His journey is a testament to what can happen when resilience meets opportunity and support. Bravo, A.R.!

We were deeply moved and inspired as our President & CEO, Claudette P. Harrell joined The Brunch Bunch to share her powerful journey as a breast cancer survivor.

Pink with a purpose and plenty of heart!

PLCCA’s Children & Family Services brought big smiles, colorful creativity, and community spirit to our October 16 Pink Out! From our little artists’ ribbon creations to our staff showing up in pink, every moment carried a message of hope.

We honored survivors, remembered loved ones, and stood together in support of those still fighting breast cancer. Thank you to our staff, children, and families for helping make the day meaningful.

The day has passed, but our message continues.

We wore pink. We stood together. We shared hope.

On Friday, October 16, PLCCA came together agency-wide for PLCCA Pink Out in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness & in celebration of our Shero and cancer survivor President & CEO Claudette P. Harrell.

Our pink represented more than a color. It honored survivors, remembered loved ones we’ve lost, and showed support for those still fighting breast cancer. Every shirt, tie, scarf, jacket, and accessory carried a message: you are not alone.

Thank you to our PLCCA staff and everyone who participated, shared the message, and helped make this a meaningful day of hope, strength, and community support.
