Catvando TNR Our primary mission is to assist individuals and communities to humanely and effectively reduce stray and feral cats through TNR Trap- neuter-return program .

We are an adoption (by appointment) center for cats that are ready for their forever homes. As an all volunteer 501c3, we work with individuals, communities and municipalities to help curb the number of cats born in the streets (and ultimately euthanized in shelters) while helping care for cats and their individual needs. We work toward harmony between the cats and their caretakers and the communi

ty. As a Cook County Sponsoring Agency, (Google: CC Management of Feral Cats Ordinance), we work with cat caretakers, cats, neighbors and municipalities to provide education, assistance, support and solutions. When possible and necessary, we remove kittens and abandoned pets to find loving, forever homes. We adopt by appointment.

From a Pinball Meet Cute to True Love! It was a match made to be!
Joe met Hazelnut, Peanut, and Pistachio at our recent Pinball event and now…THEY’RE GOING HOME! All 3 of these sisters get to stay together and be the best of friends! WOW! How lucky they are.

Plastic is not a good choice as a food bowl. Plastic easily scratches and bacteria can build up. Badly scratched plastic bowls can irritate a cats tongue. Also, if your cat develops feline acne on the chin, the plastic may be the cause. Acne looks like little blackheads. In some cases, the acne can become very inflamed.

Plastic bowls are also very light and they often end up sliding around the floor when the cat is trying to eat.

A better choice is stainless steel, glass, or ceramic. If using ceramic though, make sure it's totally smooth. If using glass, routinely check for chips.

A big Thank You to everyone who helped make our Pinball & Pussycats fundraiser a success. To Pinball Capital for providing such a warm and welcoming venue. To Montrose Market for providing such delicious horderves. To in Session for the delicious brownie type cookies. To Amigurumi.com for the darling stuffed cats and to Wilson daughter for making the beautiful and delicious cat cookies! To the volunteers who helped put this together and the Fosters who brought out their cute kittens and to all of you that attended and bought raffle tickets. So many people who hadn't played pinball in years had a blast and of course, the kitties got lots of attention. A great time was had by all! Thank you! And 2 possibly 3 kittens will be adopted.

at 11:44 last night, somebody dumped a mom and two maybe nine week old hissy kittens. Poor babies stayed there until this morning. I get the people are desperate, but we are overcrowded and having a hard time keeping up and feeding everybody. Times are terrible for everybody. Can anyone Foster. catvando.org/foster

while waiting for my new muffler, I have a little time to post. Lots has been going on. We lost Little Willie in the beginning of the month. He came down with panleukopenia. His yard cousin and cage mate Pom Pom Survived she never contracted the illness. She was on Tamiflu isolated all by her lonesome. She just yesterday joined little Mike, Axel, Sweet Cheeks, and pepper in the kitty cabana and she’s happy as a clam. It was nervous a few weeks constantly sanitizing changing shoes between buildings and rooms but it was well worth it and we got very lucky. The picture is little Pom Pom.
