On Saturday, April 11th, the Massapequa Kiwanis, in conjunction with the Nassau County Police and Town of Oyster Bay, conducted their first annual Bicycle Safety Day at Marjorie Post Park.
In attendance was Police Office Daniel Capellan of Nassau County Police Community Affairs who gave a seminar about bicycle safety to the over 20 children who participated. The instructional talk was followed by a field exercise which included tips on bicycle maintenance and helmet safety. This was the first such event by the Massapequa Kiwanis and due to its success, will probably become an annual event!
The Massapequa Kiwanis wants to thank the Nassau County Police and Town of Oyster Bay for all their support of this very successful event.
