Marydel Lions Club members were fortunate enough to meet Kenny Wood. In May, he was the guest speaker at a healthy vision event which raised money for cataract surgeries for those in need in Ghana. To think a Caroline County resident made such an impact in the world had members in awe. And he was so humble about the impact that he has made in so many people’s lives. We have lost a true angel here on earth. Prayers to his family and friends across the globe.

🦁🎉Today, the Marydel Lions Club was honored to present the Lion Lee Voshell Memorial Scholarship.

Immediate Past President Sonya Haley had the privilege of presenting the scholarship alongside Eleanor Voshell, making this a truly meaningful occasion as we celebrated Lion Lee’s legacy.

Lion Lee Voshell was a dedicated Lion who believed wholeheartedly in the power of education and a life of service. He was incredibly proud of his wife for her higher education. He knew continual education creates opportunities to make a lasting difference in the lives of others. Lee was known for his compassion, hard work, sense of humor, and remarkable ability to solve problems. Whether helping a neighbor, volunteering in the community, or fixing what others thought couldn’t be fixed, he always put service before self.

The Lion Lee Voshell Memorial scholarship recipient is continuing her education in nursing—a profession that embodies the same spirit of compassion, dedication, and service that Lee lived every day. We are proud to invest in her future and know she will touch countless lives through the care she provides.

Congratulations to our scholarship recipient, DiDi! We wish you continued success as you pursue your education and your calling to serve others.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported the Lion Lee Voshell Memorial Scholarship. Together, we are ensuring that Lion Lee’s legacy of education, compassion, and service continues to inspire future generations.

Members attended the last 22B Cabinet Meeting at the Delmarva Shorebirds game today. Unfortunately the Shorebirds didn’t win but it was a great day!

What an incredible night of service, fellowship, and impact! 👁️💙

The Lions of Caroline County were proud to host the Healthy Vision Dinner on May 20th, bringing together Lions, Lifetime Wells Vision board members, and community supporters — with 10 Lions Clubs represented!

We were especially honored to welcome guest speaker Ken Woods, whose passion and dedication started this mission to help restore sight to those in need in Ghana. Hearing firsthand about the life-changing impact of cataract surgeries made the evening even more meaningful, and we are proud to support the incredible work of Lifetime Wells Vision.

Because of the generosity in the room, together we raised and donated an amazing $5,315 to help provide sight-restoring surgeries to those in need. 🌍✨

This is what service looks like — people coming together with compassion, purpose, and a desire to make a difference. Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and helped make this inspiring evening possible.
