Here is everything you need to know about the Martinsburg-Berkeley County Public Libraries Centennial Celebration & Fundraiser!

On Saturday, September 19th, the library transforms into a Roaring Twenties Speakeasy for one unforgettable evening. Your ticket includes a complimentary glass of champagne, one drink ticket, and heavy hors d'oeuvres by Brix 27. Enjoy live jazz by the Ben Mauger Vintage 1920s Jazz Band, Charleston dance lessons, a piano bar with Jordan Siwek, and 1920s guitar jazz by Tony M. Try your luck at blackjack, craps, or roulette in our gaming parlor (play money only), plus photo booths, a silent auction, and raffles.

Come dressed in your best 1920s attire and compete for best dressed awards. Dust off your flapper dress or grab your fedora!

🦕 ROAR alert! DinoQuest Adventures is coming to all four Martinsburg-Berkeley County Public Libraries this week!

Meet Stevie the T-Rex and Zingo the baby Dilophosaurus in this fun, interactive, and educational dinosaur show for kids of all ages, with time to meet and greet the dinos afterward!

Unearth a ROAR this week at all four Berkely Co., WV libraries with DinoQuest Adventures! Featuring both Stevie the T-Rex and Zingo, the baby Dilophosaurus and accompanied by brave dino rangers, this family-friendly dinosaur show is interactive, funny, and educational for kids of all ages. Explore paleontology, fossils, and, of course, dinosaurs. The show itself lasts approximately 25-30 minutes, with the remainder of the time reserved for guests to meet and greet dinos.

REMINDER CALL FOR ARTISTS!

Summer Painting and Pastel Exhibition

Calling all painters and pastel artists!
The Berkeley Arts Council invites you to celebrate the beauty of summer. Let the season put your colors on full display. This is a non-juried community art exhibition celebrating summer and the colors that define the season. The exhibition will be on display from June 18 to August 2, 2026.

Artists over the age of 18 working in any painting and pastel media are welcome to enter. No jury. No pressure. Just creative expression and community connection! Bring your work, ready to hang, to the Berkeley Art Works and complete the entry form. Works must be framed or professionally presented, including wire for hanging (no sawtooth or loop hangers please).

There is a $10 fee per piece to enter, maximum 3 pieces per artist, payable on delivery. Extended drop-off dates Thursday - Sunday June 11-14 and June 18-21. Business hours Thursday & Friday 11-5, Saturday & Sunday 11-4.

️Where: Berkeley Art Works, 116 N Queen Street, Martinsburg, WV.

Closing reception on Sunday August 2 from 2-4pm.

Artwork Pickup: Artwork can be removed from the gallery at the end of the reception on August 2.

The Shepherdstown Public Library is racing to raise the final $96,000 needed for a rooftop solar project that could cut monthly electric costs by up to 50%, following a $50,000 bequest that revived plans originally included in the library's construction more than four years ago.

This Saturday, June 13th at 10:30 AM, Rocknoceros is coming to the library plaza for the June Martinsburg Rocks event! Bring the whole family out for a live concert and a babywearing check, something for everyone! 🎶

📚 What an incredible day at Comic Con this past Saturday at the Martinsburg Public Library!

The Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library had such a great time connecting with neighbors, welcoming new members, and selling books at our Friends book sale. The turnout was absolutely amazing, and it was so wonderful to see our community come together for a day of costumes, comics, creativity, and fun for all ages.

Thank you to Martinsburg-Berkeley County Public Libraries for hosting such a fantastic event, to every volunteer who helped staff the Friends table and book sale, and to every neighbor who stopped by to say hello. We cannot wait to do it again! 💚
