Today was one of those days that reminds us exactly why the Anna Kate Wenz Fight Foundation exists.
There is nothing quite like walking back through the doors of the place that once surrounded our family with so much love, hope, and safety. Coming back to Target House feels like coming home. Meeting the new families who now call it home brings back memories that never really leave you.
When you return to everyday life, it's easy to slip back into what the rest of the world calls normal. Inside those walls, normal looks very different. The conversations are different. The worries are different. The victories are different. Watching the weight lift from a parent's shoulders, even for a few moments, reminds us why every meal served, every smile shared, and every hour volunteered matters.
We were surrounded by an incredible group of volunteers today. Before I knew it, everyone had found their place, jumped in, and made the day happen. We are so grateful for each of you. We also wish we could share the stories and the smiles of the families we met, but those moments belong to them. They are memories we will carry with us.
To every person who volunteered, donated, prayed, or supported this event, thank you. You made today possible, and because of you, families were reminded they are not walking this journey alone.
Now it's time to start planning for Christmas.
And to our sweet Anna Kate. Your purpose on this earth continues to touch lives every single day. We hope we made you proud today. Thank you for bringing us back to the place you always called home. No Worries.
Big thank you to Cook Farms Freezer Beef who provided the ground beef. Thank you again to everyone who donated, volunteered, sponsored, and participated in the Ride for AKFF. Because of your generosity, we're able to continue supporting these incredible families during one of the most difficult times in their lives. We couldn't do it without you! 🩷 (Also, mark you calendar for next year's ride! 2nd Annual AKFF Jeep Ride )
