NWTN Local Food Network The NWTN Local Food Network serves as a catalyst for a thriving and equitable local food system

Our Mission:

The Northwest Tennessee Local Food Network serves as a catalyst for a thriving and equitable local food system that is accessible to ALL. Our Vision:

We envision a sustainable regional food system that utilizes locally grown and produced foods to promote healthy individuals, equitable communities and thriving local economies. With the help and support of many who envision a thriving

and equitable food system for our region, our organization has expanded programming and reach since 2015. In 2018, the Northwest Tennessee Local Food Network became an official nonprofit organization. We are proud to have rooted our nonprofit in Northwest Tennessee and hope to have a growing positive impact throughout the region.

We are honored to be a part of the showcasing to TSSD School Nutrition at Trenton Special School District, hosting Commissioner Andy Holt, from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and Farm to School staff from the Tennessee Department of Education.

Thank you to everyone working to strengthen Farm to School efforts across Tennessee and Northwest Tennessee including Trenton SSD partners: Healthy Flavors Tennessee, NWTN Local Food Network, Wellness in the Schools, Thaden School, and local farms: Bell Family Farms, Stockyard Market, Tennemo Rice Family Farm & Mill, Blackberry Pond Farm - to name a few.

Together, we're helping students grow, eat well, and thrive through healthy, locally sourced foods!

"The best medicine for illness, apathy, and boredom in children is simply getting them outside. My kids can be screaming, fighting, and crying β€” but once I get them out of these four walls they turn into my wild & free kiddos again! Getting kids in the garden is 100% worth the risk." β€” Mama on the Homestead

We couldn't agree more. That's exactly why the exists β€” to get everyone outside, hands in the dirt, growing food and growing together. 🌱
