What is the American Legion? ❤️🤍💙

Sometimes, when people drive past an American Legion post, they think of it as just a neighborhood lounge or a local bar. But if you step inside, you will quickly realize it is something much greater.

The American Legion is not a bar. It is a sanctuary, a lifeline, and a family.

We are a non-profit veterans organization made up of people who have served this country and those who love them. Our mission doesn't stop when the uniform comes off; it just changes shape. We stand for community, country, and—most importantly—never leaving a veteran or their family behind.

It takes an entire family to do this vital work, and we are proud to have several incredible entities working hand-in-hand under one roof:
The American Legion (Legionnaires): The foundation of our organization. These are the wartime veterans who served our country selflessly and continue to serve their local communities today.

The American Legion Auxiliary: The mothers, spouses, daughters, sisters, and grandmothers who bring a deep heart of service to our missions, stepping up to support veterans, youth programs, and community outreach.

The Sons of The American Legion (SAL): The proud descendants of our nation's heroes, working hard to preserve the legacy of their parents and grandparents through dedicated volunteer work.

The American Legion Riders: The visible, roaring heart of our patriotism on wheels. They ride to honor fallen heroes, support veterans' causes, and raise crucial funds for our community.

What do we actually do?

We host community dinners, organize fundraisers for families in need, mentor local youth, provide scholarships, and offer a safe, welcoming space where veterans can share a cup of coffee and a conversation with people who truly understand their journey.

Every time you support an event at your local American Legion, you aren't just attending a social gathering—you are helping us send wreaths to veterans' cemeteries, support local families during the holidays, and keep vital community programs alive.

We are a family bound by service, honor, and hope. If you’ve never been inside, or if you’ve been looking for a way to give back to those who gave so much, our doors are always open.
Come see what the American Legion Family is really about. 🇺🇸✨
