It's been beautiful weather the last couple weeks for volunteer day down at the Resilient Roots demonstration garden. Big thanks to our volunteers -- we've gotten so much done already!

Replace your lawn with diverse ground covers! The strawberries are coming in nicely under the fruit trees at Resilient Roots Demonstration Garden down at Land Trust 's Fuller Farm. They provide habitat, food to animals and pollinators, increase diversity in the yard and create a green mulch-- holding moisture and supporting soil life. Reduce mow time and watering needs! Other ground covers we like include creeping time, creeping sedum, creeping veronica, and the native bearberry.

Another great Resilient Roots permablitz last Saturday with the amazing new Dennis Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod homeowners! We had a very energetic group that installed three native/edible landscapes in short order. Many hands! To learn more about Resilient Roots go to resroots.org.

Thanks to all 30 folks to came to learn about growing shiitake mushrooms with us this weekend! We drilled, inoculated and sealed our oak logs, which will begin fruiting delicious and nutritious mushrooms by next summer.
