That's a wrap on the Strides for Stuttering 5K! 🏃‍♂️👟🏃‍♀️🏅 We closed out August with 63 registered participants across 23 states + Canada — an incredible show of support from every corner of North America!

The Fall 2026 SLP Book Club is here!

Starting in September, Christopher Anderson and Carrie Kerstein will lead a close study of Christopher’s book, “Every Waking Moment: The Journey to Take Back My Life from the Trauma and Stigma of Stuttering.”

In this series of discussions, participants will learn the side effects of stuttering, cycle of struggle, avoidance and hypervigilance that take a toll on a person who stutters, and how SLPs can help. Participants will analyze the process of change that enables a person who stutters to let go of the physiological, emotional, and mental effort to find self-acceptance and joy in communication.

6 live hours of lecture and guided discussion + 14 hours for book reading = 20 total registered professional development hours (2.0 ASHA CEUs)

Meet Elizabeth Kuhfuss-Beville, MS, CCC-SLP!

We asked how Elizabeth became interested in working with people who stutter:

"I had some incredible SLP mentors who helped spark my interest while I was in grad school. The more I've learned and the more people I've encountered along the way in my learning journey, the more I've grown to value wanting to help support those who stutter while watching them discover their own resilience and brilliance. Two hundred speech-language pathologists have now shown stuttering matters enough to keep learning.

Most SLPs leave graduate school with limited training in stuttering. Families feel that gap and the Ally of Stuttering® seal exists to close it.
