đź’ś Domestic Violence Awareness Month đź’ś

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month—a time to raise awareness, support survivors, educate our communities, and stand together against domestic violence.

Domestic violence can happen to anyone, regardless of age, gender, race, or socioeconomic status. No one deserves to experience abuse, and no one should have to face it alone.

Let’s use our voices to break the silence, challenge the stigma, recognize the signs, and create a community where survivors feel safe, supported, and believed.

đź’ś Listen. Believe. Support. Speak Up.
đź’ś Love should never hurt.

Celebrating 53 Years of Creativity, Culture, and Connection.

On September 24, 1973, the National Arts and Letters Commission was established under the leadership of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s 15th National President, Lillian P. Benbow.

Today, the Southwest Region proudly celebrates 53 years of creativity and appreciation for our culture as we honor the vision that created space for artistic expression, cultural preservation, literary excellence, performance, music, visual storytelling, and so much more.

For more than five decades, the National Arts and Letters Commission has helped us celebrate who we are, reflect on where we have been, and imagine what is possible through the power of creativity.

As we remember this important founding day, we also look forward—continuing to Embrace Innovation while remaining intentional about preserving, elevating, and sharing the stories, artistry, and cultural brilliance that shape our communities.

May we continue to create with purpose, celebrate with intention, and ensure that excellence remains on display.

Happy 53rd Anniversary of the National Arts and Letters Commission!
