Happy ! Thank you to our ocean and ocean relatives for the unconditional love and care that it continues to share. From shore to shore, we are all connected. We must continue to protect all sides of the ocean, including the people who protect their waters. Liberation is carried by the same waters.

“LOVE IS AN ACTION” - Bell Hooks, a beautiful truth that is admired by our team.

Today is , a day to uplift all Indigenous-Led organizations. At Sacred Places Institute For Indigenous Peoples, we work towards collective world-building through an intersectional lens by uplifting and building the capacity of Indigenous Peoples to protect all lands, waters, and cultures. This work cannot be done alone or without Indigenous Peoples; Indigenous Knowledge is central to the continued protection of Mother Earth. When we protect the lands and waters, we protect each other. Thank you to all of our land, water, and knowledge protectors, as well as our allies who support Indigenous-Led futures.

Did you know that kelp forests are underwater ecosystems that protect coastlines from erosion, absorb carbon dioxide, provide a home for marine life and provide food?
There is so much life that deserves to live in the ocean. It is crucial that we keep extractive industries away from our ocean 💗

Climate Preparedness does not exist without the voices of our most impacted communities. A Just Transition is only achieved through solidarity for all peoples and beings, whether it’s: migrant solidarity, disability justice, housing justice, food justice, the Rights of Nature, and so on. We are all exploited and over-extracted by systems that attempt to diminish our health and good spirits; but we will continue to roam the world with love, through collective solidarity, and the uplifting of one another.

One way that we can come together is through community-led solutions that are crafted for our specific environments. If you have 10-20 minutes maximum, please scan the QR code on the second slide to take our Climate Preparedness Survey! This is specifically for Indigenous Peoples who live in California, please feel free to share with other Indigenous folx you know. We appreciate everyone’s love & support, and we are always sending our love as well.

YOU HAVE UNTIL MARCH 13th to submit a public comment to protect our loved lands from the extractive industry. In 2019, the Trump Administration had introduced a proposal to open up over a million acres of lands in California to be exploited by the gas and oil industry; the proposal has resurfaced and its important for for us to OPPOSE the colonial violence. Protect Indigenous Peoples & ancestral homelands, use your voice today & scan the QR code to submit your public comment!
