Rotarians, students, and community volunteers grabbed shovels and planted California natives across the site, turning bare soil into a garden that will welcome residents home as the Palisades rebuilds. Palisades Beautiful was also honored with a Certificate of Recognition from Councilwoman Traci Park for leading the vision behind the garden.

This project was made possible with support from Rotary District 5280 wildfire relief funds. When Rotary partners with others, we strengthen community resilience and bring people together.

Thank you to Councilwoman Traci Park, Palisades Beautiful, American Landscape, Johnson Tree Co., Athens Services, StreetsLA, and every volunteer who showed up!

We'll open with a special 10-minute talk from Carl and Tara Eaton, Directors of OC–Not Just Tourists, on how travelers can carry life-saving medical supplies to clinics around the world. ✈️💊

🕊️ Peace comes with kindness.

On this International Day of Peace, we're reminded that peace doesn't start with big gestures. It starts with a kind word, a helping hand, and a moment of patience with someone who needs it.

Every act of kindness makes our community, and our world, a little more peaceful. At the Rotary Club of Marina del Rey, that's what service is all about: neighbors caring for neighbors, here at home and around the world.

Today, let's choose kindness. Peace will follow. 💙💛

From East Los Angeles to the open water!

Youth from the Boys & Girls Clubs of West San Gabriel Valley and Eastside had an unforgettable evening in Marina del Rey, getting out on both catamarans and monohulls to experience the Wednesday Night Racing Sunset Series firsthand.

Youth sailors got a front-row seat to the excitement of race night—watching large sailboats line up for their starts, seeing skilled racers in action, and getting introduced to the world of competitive sailing right here in their own backyard.

This is the next generation of sailing.

🙋 How can you support?

Come sail with us! Marina del Rey Rotary is hosting its Sunset Sail Fundraiser next Thursday, September 17th, and every ticket goes directly toward getting more kids like these out on the water.

You’ll spend an evening on the Marina as the sun sets, and your support helps cover the boats, gear, and instruction that turn a first sail into a real passion. For many of these young sailors, the program is their first time on a sailboat — you can help make sure it’s not their last.

📅 Thursday, September 17
🕕 5PM PST
📍 4215 Admiralty Way, Marina del Rey
