We created this page in order to get support from Indian Hills and Cobb County residents to oppose the proposed zoning change for the current Pinecrest Swim/Tennis property located in The Indian Hills Subdivision. Should this zoning pass it will set a dangerous precedent in Marietta that makes no subdivision safe from this type of expansion with architectural styles not in keeping
with the neighborhoods’ feel. The proposed zoning change calls for 22 three story units to be built on the 2.8 acres. This plan is significantly denser than adjacent residential properties. The height of the townhomes is also inconsistent with neighboring developments and homes and will tower over the surrounding properties. The traffic generated with exacerbate the daily nightmare at East Cobb Elementary and the continuing issues on 120. Our already overcrowded schools will be pushed even harder to meet the needs of the ever growing population. We need your help!!! First, we ask that you sign our petition

Additionally, we will need as many people as possible to attend as many of the following meetings as possible to make our opposition clear:
1) The first meeting is the Board of Commissioners zoning meeting which will take place on Tuesday, May 20th at 9:00 am, on the 2nd floor of the Cobb County Building A, 100 Cherokee Street in Marietta.
2) The next will be for residents to meet with John Moore, Attorney for the developer, Brooks Chadwick, LLC. To discuss our concerns and hear their position. This meeting has not yet been scheduled, but should take place in the evening the week of May 19th in the evening.
3) The final meeting will again be with the Board of Commissioners. It will take place on Tuesday, June 17th at 9:00 am, on the 2nd floor of the Cobb County Building A, 100 Cherokee Street in Marietta. We believe that this is when the Board of Commissioners will make their final zoning decision for the Pinecrest property. A large showing of support for the opposition will be CRITICAL to having our concerns heard. Thank you so much for joining us in our opposition of this townhome community.
