Our plans for our new Mexico Global Engagement Trip are coming together!

We’ve led trips in partnership with the YMCA of Mexico before, and we’re excited to build on those experiences and further enhance our Global Engagement program.

I had an incredibly worthwhile visit this past weekend, meeting with Oscar Velasco Flores, General Secretary of YMCA Mexico, and his leadership team as we worked together to develop this next journey.

A meaningful part of the trip will be our time at Camp Camohmila, where we’ll work alongside YMCA staff and spend time with disadvantaged youth who live and study at a boarding school at the camp.

We’ll also experience the history and energy of Mexico City and visit Tepoztlán, a beautiful mountain town and prime destination. We even visited the spa retreat where our group will stay, adding another special dimension to the experience.

And for those wanting to extend the adventure, the second part of the journey will include an experience in Colombia!

It’s shaping up to be an amazing combination of culture, service, travel, and YMCA connection.

Peru, you have our hearts. ❤️🇵🇪

What an unforgettable week of service, culture, and connection. We explored the vibrant cities of Lima and Cusco, served alongside the YMCA in Lima Cercado and Independencia, laughed and played with local children, painted a classroom, experienced the beauty of the Sacred Valley, and stood in awe at Machu Picchu.

This journey changed us. We leave Peru with full hearts, new friendships, and a deeper understanding of what it means to strengthen communities across the globe.

Now, it's onward to Argentina for the next chapter of our Global Engagement journey!

💙🇵🇪 This week, our YMCA Global Engagement team had the incredible opportunity to spend the day in Independencia, Peru—and it’s a day none of us will ever forget.

From laughing and playing with neighborhood children to rolling up our sleeves and painting a classroom, we experienced firsthand the power of community. We also learned about the life-changing work the YMCA is doing in Independencia to create safe spaces, provide opportunities for youth, and strengthen families.

This experience reminded us that the Y’s mission knows no borders. Together, we’re building stronger communities and creating meaningful connections around the world.

Thank you to everyone in Independencia for welcoming us with open arms. 💙
