R2RCNY RECEIVES GENEROUS BEQUEST
Our sincere thanks to longtime R2RCNY advocate Maria Sweney (second from left), who presented us with a generous bequest from her late brother, Michael Samolis, at our April Advocate Meeting.
Mr. Samolis was a veteran who struggled with substance use disorder. His generosity will help other Central New Yorkers who are struggling with addiction.

ALUMNI APPRECIATION POST!!!
We would like to acknowledge and thank Elijah for all of his recent efforts in Paying It Forward. R2RCNY sends people out of state for what we hope will be their successful treatment of substance use disorder. We fund the treatment and ask them to pay it forward. It really takes a village to do what we do.
Elijah has REALLY been doing the work helping others. After going through R2RCNY in 2020, he’s recently reached out asking how he can help us. We were able to put him in touch with another young man there who needed more support. Elijah has been crucial in assisting this person with hands on support and being a friend when it was needed the most. Recovery can be lonely and its always nice to be able to connect with someone.
I can’t thank Elijah enough for all the help he’s been to us in the last couple of months. It is wonderful to see people grow and watch them pass what they have learned onto the next candidates. Elijah, thank you for paying it forward out of the goodness of your heart. We are so proud of you!
