We are having a trail clean-up at the Lab this coming Tuesday, May 12 from 4-6 PM. We will be raking trails, clipping back brush and installing a couple of signs. Anyone who likes the Lab and is willing to do a little work is welcome to come and help! Bring a rake or clippers if you can, we will also have a few extra🙂

We had a nice turnout for this year's Super Saturday Snowshoe! Several Girl Scouts, the Yooper Snowshoeing group, one experienced snowmobiler who decided to try something different this weekend, two former Floridians who love snow, and a handful of other folks rounded out the roster. It was a wonderful way to spend a winter morning. Thanks everyone for your enthusiasm!
The trails are well-packed, so even if you don't have a pair of snowshoes you can still enjoy a walk in the wintery woods at the Lab. Ditch the cabin fever and GO OUTSIDE. (A bonus: it is much less windy in the woods!)

Report from Thomasma's on this morning's crane count from the EELab observation deck: 4 pairs of Sandhills calling, and one individual fly-over. Thomasma's were there as part of the Annual Midwest Crane Count. They also saw/heard: woodcock, crows, ravens, mallards, geese, siskins, winter wrens, robins, red-winged blackbirds, and grackles.

Looking forward to the beginning birding event with them at the Lab on May 3. Spring is here!!
