Welcome Chris Fletcher to the Hope Served Board of Directors!

Chris Fletcher serves as Director of Mobilization for Handi*Vangelism Ministries International (H*VMI), and Activities Coordinator for their summer Handi*Camp program. He has experience in camp and ministry leadership, including staff development, program coordination, and creating inclusive environments for individuals with disabilities.

As a wheelchair user, Chris offers both personal perspective and professional insight. He is actively involved in his local church and works to cultivate regional ministry partnerships as he regularly speaks at churches and ministry events on building more welcoming communities, with an emphasis on loving our neighbors as ourselves.

He holds a degree in Elementary and Special Education from Centenary College and enjoys teaching in a variety of areas, including leading a monthly Bible study for adults with disabilities.

He is honored to serve on the Hope Served board and contribute to its mission of strengthening communities through compassionate service.

IMPORTANT EVENT UPDATE — NEW DATE: OCTOBER 22, 2026

Hope Served's Illumination: Come to the Table has been rescheduled from September 11 to Thursday, October 22, 2026.

Due to construction timelines extending beyond our original event date, we have made the decision to postpone the event. This additional time will allow construction to progress and provide our guests with a better experience when they gather at Hope Served.

Hope Served is hiring a Program Manager!🎉

The Program Manager serves as the strategic point person for Hope Served’s food service enterprises with a key focus on planning for and launching the Hope Served Teaching Kitchen and Bistro: a mission-driven, nonprofit social-enterprise restaurant that will provide meaningful employment, culinary training, and life-skills education for people with disabilities.

The overall goal is developing financially sustainable enterprises while fostering an inclusive, supportive, and person-centered environment for employees and trainees with disabilities. This role blends traditional restaurant management responsibilities with culinary education and staff development. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, committed to disability inclusion, and skilled in building a positive culture that emphasizes growth, dignity, and teamwork.

OUR OVERARCHING GOAL at Hope Served is to help folks who have been marginalized from the workforce and social settings to find their voice, uncover their abilities, and connect them with meaningful employment, personal development, and service opportunities. The key to all of this is creating a community where individuals can grow and flourish.

One way we are fulfilling that goal is by renovating the former Manheim Mennonite Church at 201 W High St in Manheim into a teaching kitchen and bistro that will provide meaningful employment, culinary training, and life-skills education for people with disabilities.

Help us complete and run Hope Served Teaching Kitchen and Bistro by joining 250 people in the 250 for $250 Challenge.
