Happy 89th heavenly birthday to Stan Deen! So much of who Stan was continues to live on through his students, especially his love for people and the arts.

So today, give a Hershey bar to someone who could use some encouragement. We know that’s exactly what he’d be doing if he were still here.

This Labor Day, we honor the hardworking teachers, mentors, artists, parents, and community members who pour their time, talent, and heart into helping children reach their potential.

Our foundation was created in memory of Stan Deen, a teacher who believed in children and understood the power of hard work, education, and creativity.

Today, we carry that belief forward—one child, classroom, and creative opportunity at a time. Happy Labor Day!

It’s back-to-school time! 📚

As we head into another school year of helping kids reach their potential in education and the arts, we keep coming back to one of Stan’s favorite chalkboard quotes:

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” —Eleanor Roosevelt

Here’s to a new year of learning and dreaming big! ✨

Over the weekend, four members of the Stan Deen Foundation’s board, a lieutenant from Lancaster County Prison, and a local performing arts director spent time in Kensington hearing from Jeremy Chen about his work with Klean Kensington and rolling up our sleeves alongside local teens for a neighborhood beautification project.

There’s something special about working side by side. It was great to spend time with these young people and be part of making their neighborhood a place they can feel proud of. We’re thankful for the work they’re doing and honored to support them along the way.

On Thursday, Nathaniel Deen spoke to 1,000 educators in the Hempfield School District and shared the story of Stan Deen, the high school English teacher who changed his life.

Reflecting on one of his hardest seasons, Nate shared how Stan chose to see the hurting kid behind the behavior. He showed up, listened, and believed in Nate when Nate didn’t know how to believe in himself.

Sometimes, we don’t realize the impact of the small things we do for a student. We may never see how their story ends. But we can be the person who helps change the direction of it.

As Nate said, “Go be someone’s Mr. Deen.”

$8,500 raised for local youth! 🎉

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing community, we raised $8,500 at last month’s New Holland Classic Car Show to help empower vulnerable youth through education and the arts.

A huge THANK YOU to all of our sponsors and vendors who helped make the event possible, and to everyone who came out and supported the cause. Your support is making a real difference in the lives of children and young people in our community. We’re so grateful!

“Ten years later… his greatest work is still unfolding.”

Ten years ago today, we lost Stan Deen. We lost the man whose name our Foundation proudly carries. But we didn’t lose his legacy.

Every child who finds hope, every mentor who chooses to show up, every act of kindness and every second chance… his influence lives on.

Stan believed in seeing potential where others saw problems. He believed that one caring adult could change the course of a young person’s life. He proved it every day.

The Stan Deen Foundation exists to carry that belief forward—through education, the arts, mentorship, and opportunities that help young people discover their worth.

Today, we remember Stan with gratitude, but more importantly, we honor him by continuing the work he started.

The greatest legacy isn’t what we leave behind.

It’s what continues because we lived.

Thank you, Stan.

We’ll keep paying it forward.
