This week, we are proud to recognize another incredible member of our community through the KGF Community Heroes Program!

After four years of ROTC at Northwestern State University, Matthew LeBlanc was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army/Louisiana Army National Guard in 2007. In 2009, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he served as a Heavy-Equipment Tractor Trailer Platoon Leader and led more than 46 combat missions throughout Iraq.

Of all his accomplishments during his deployment, he considers his greatest achievement bringing every one of his soldiers home safely to their families and loved ones.

Following his deployment, he continued serving with the Louisiana Army National Guard during hurricane response operations, including Hurricanes Gustav and Isaac. After nine years of service, he concluded his military career at the rank of Captain.

His commitment to service didn’t end there. He found a second calling in education, teaching special education students first at Belle Chasse High School and now with Jefferson Parish Schools.

From serving his country to serving students in our community, we are honored to recognize his dedication to others as a KGF Community Hero.
Thank you for your service and for continuing to make a difference in our community!

Our first KGF Community Hero of the 2026-2027 season has proudly served the St. Charles Parish community with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office since August 2015, bringing more than 11 years of law enforcement experience and service to the community.

Throughout his career, he has served in several areas of the agency, including Communications/911, Corrections, Intake and Booking, and Patrol, where he advanced to the rank of Corporal. He has also served as a SWAT Medic, Dive Team Tender, Field Training Officer, and instructor. His commitment to professional growth has led him to complete specialized training in peer support, emergency dispatch, tactical emergency casualty care, and leadership.

In July 2026, he began a new chapter of his career as the School Resource Officer at Norco Elementary School. In this role, he works to provide a safe and secure environment while also focusing on mentorship, relationship-building, and being a positive and approachable presence for students, faculty, and staff.

His career reflects a dedication to serving his community in many different capacities, always striving to grow professionally and make a positive impact on those around him.

We are proud to honor Andre Lee for his years of service and commitment to the St. Charles Parish community. Thank you for all you do to serve and protect our community, and we hope you have a great time at today’s game! ⚜️🏈
