The foundation is dedicated to raising money to fund brain cancer research so more lives are not cut short by this disease. Kelly Kicking Cancer hosts two main events each year: the Shamrock Sprint fun run and 5k, and the Who's Got Talent gala

💚 Remembering Kelly O’Mahoney 💚

On August 29, we remember Kelly O’Mahoney, who joined God’s heavenly host of angels at just 21 years old.

Kelly was sweet, compassionate, strong-willed, courageous and deeply loved. Her mom often wonders what Kelly’s life would look like today at 33 and knows she would have absolutely adored her nieces and been the most loving, doting aunt.

So many memories remain—especially Kelly walking off the soccer field with a smile on her face, her unforgettable personality, and the countless photographs that help keep those precious moments alive.

Kelly’s journey also strengthened her family’s faith, even through questions that may never have answers. There is comfort in believing that she and Larry are together, watching over the family they love.

Today, we remember a courageous young woman who never gave up. Her life may have been far too short, but her impact continues through everyone who loved her and through Kelly Kicking Cancer, which carries her name and fighting spirit forward.

We are honored to welcome Maestro Dennis G. Assaf, founder and Artistic Director of the Jefferson Performing Arts Society, to the judges’ panel for Kelly Kicking Cancer’s 2026 Annual Who’s Got Talent? Gala!

Maestro Assaf founded the Jefferson Performing Arts Society in 1978 and has spent decades enriching the performing arts in our community. A respected conductor and frequent guest conductor around the world, he has conducted nearly 200 productions locally and abroad. He holds both a Bachelor and Master of Music in Conducting from UNO and was named Alumnus of the Year in 1999.

With his incredible experience in music and the performing arts, we couldn’t be more excited to have Maestro Assaf helping select this year’s winners! 🌟

💚 Kids Helping Kids — and Making a Difference! 💚

This weekend, a very special young helper pitched in to help Susie O’Mahoney with Kelly Kicking Cancer correspondence! ☘️

She helped put stamps on letters going out to request donations and even made the trip to check the P.O. Box. 📬💌

We LOVE seeing kids get involved for a good cause. It’s such a wonderful way to teach them that you’re never too young to give back, lend a hand, and make a difference in your community.
