Adam Sandler is a Manchester NH native!

Adam Sandler was born in Brooklyn and moved to Manchester, New Hampshire, as a young boy. His mom, Judy, was a nursery school teacher. His dad, Stanley, was an electrical contractor. Nobody in the house was in show business.
As a kid, Adam spent time at the Manchester Boys & Girls Club, shooting hoops and playing ping-pong.
At 17, he stepped onto the stage at a Boston comedy club on a whim. That spontaneous moment became the first step of a career that would make him one of the richest comedians in the world.
Saturday Night Live came next. Then the movies. Billy Madison. The Waterboy. Big Daddy. 50 First Dates. In 1999, he founded his own production company, Happy Madison. In 2014, he became one of the first big stars to sign a movie deal with Netflix. In 2023, Forbes named him the highest-paid actor in the world.
But he never really left home behind.
In October 2007, he pledged $1 million to that same Boys & Girls Club in Manchester. The gift helped kick off a $6.6 million campaign to renovate the clubhouse and serve 1,000 more kids.
Here's the part almost nobody knows: Sandler could not make the ceremony, so he sent a video instead. He shared his favorite memories of the club. Basketball. Ping-pong. And, he admitted, peeing his pants.
In 2010, he came back again to give the commencement speech at his old school, Manchester Central High.
Family has always come along for the ride. His parents voiced characters together in his 2002 animated film Eight Crazy Nights. His dad died in 2003, and years later, Adam said his 2022 film Hustle was inspired by him.
His mom kept showing up. She voiced roles in Hotel Transylvania and appeared in Blended. When Hustle screened in Philadelphia, she was his date on the red carpet. In 2025, she made a cameo in Happy Gilmore 2.
His wife, Jackie, and daughters, Sadie and Sunny, have appeared in his films for years too.
Over the years, he has lent his support to causes like Make-A-Wish, Toys for Tots, Feeding America, and Autism Speaks, and he appeared in a video for the foundation honoring his late friend Chris Farley.
Today his fortune is estimated at around $440 million. Yet most people still picture him the same way: baggy clothes, a sweatsuit, and a grin.
Sometimes success does not change who you are. It just gives you more ways to show up for the people and places that made you.

Two thousand years ago, engineers carved a 21-kilometer aqueduct through the hills of Judea - dropping exactly one meter per kilometer, using nothing but gravity to carry water from Solomon’s Pools south of Bethlehem all the way to Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. It worked so well that it remained in use until about 100 years ago.

A 300-meter section of that ancient Lower Aqueduct has just been uncovered near Kibbutz Ramat Rachel in southern Jerusalem by the Israel Antiquities Authority. The excavation also revealed how the system was modified during the Ottoman period - with ceramic pipes installed inside the original channel and a distinctive stone-pressed plaster finish applied to the exterior.

The roots of Jewish civilization in this land run deep - and they keep surfacing. 🇮🇱🏺

You cannot teach children that words matter without taking responsibility for your own.
Ms Rachel teaches children that words matter, yet she has used her own platform to amplify lies, misinformation, and voices associated with deeply troubling rhetoric about Israelis and October 7.
For example, Ms Rachel has made posts spreading the big "genocide" lie about Israel. She collaborated online with Palestinian photojournalist Motaz Azaiza, who had praised Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader and architect of the October 7 massacre. She amplified an image as "evidence" of starvation in Gaza but did not mention that the child in the picture suffered from a serious congenital medical condition.
You cannot teach children to communicate with kindness while modeling communication that spreads misinformation, promotes bias, or can fuel hatred. You cannot teach children that words matter without taking responsibility for your own.
We are calling on Ms Rachel's Brand Management Team to say no to antisemitism, correct inaccuracies, and model the values of kindness and responsible communication.
We're also asking Meta to review Ms Rachel's content, enforce its policies consistently, and take appropriate action if violations are found.

The British singer says he has faced threats, defaced concert posters and rejection by longtime peers over his support for Israel. Still, he says his planned performances will go ahead. His November 4 show in Tel Aviv sold out, and he added another on November 7. Israel clearly wants an encore.

Four Jewish day schools across the United States received bomb threat hoaxes within days of each other - forcing evacuations and sending hundreds of families into panic.

Two Brooklyn yeshivas - the Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School and the United Talmudical Academy of Williamsburg - received threats just two minutes apart on October 9. Three days later, the Donna Klein Jewish Academy preschool in Boca Raton, Florida was evacuated, and the Milken Community School in Los Angeles went into lockdown. All four threats were confirmed as hoaxes. One Milken parent described their child’s terrifying experience: “They had to pull down the shades, lock the door, turn off the lights, and sit under their desks. He was scared and nervous.”

Jewish children should be able to go to school without fear.
