BREAKING — "John Galliano: Horizons," the Met’s Spring 2027 Costume Institute Exhibition, Will Not Proceed as Planned". (Vogue)

Max Hollein, Director and CEO of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, said: “Following thoughtful discussions with many stakeholders and with John Galliano, we together have decided not to proceed with the exhibition.”

The move follows renewed backlash following a multitude of Jew-hatred comments made by the designer. Jewish community leaders and public officials took a stand, highlighting his past behavior.

The world of science is mourning the loss of Prof. Ada Yonath, one of Israel's most celebrated scientists, who passed away at the age of 87.

Yonath was a pioneer in the study of the ribosome - the tiny cellular structure responsible for protein production - and her groundbreaking research transformed our understanding of one of life's most fundamental processes, paving the way for the development of new antibiotics and life-saving medicines.

When she began her research, much of the scientific community believed her goal was impossible. She and her colleagues conducted approximately 25,000 experiments before successfully creating the first ribosome crystals - a feat that ultimately earned her the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2009, as well as the Israel Prize.

She continued to research, publish, and run an active laboratory at the Weizmann Institute of Science until her final days. The Weizmann Institute paid tribute to her, saying: "She showed generations of scientists what can be achieved when you dare to ask big questions and refuse to give up on the relentless search for answers." May her memory forever be a blessing. 🕯️🇮🇱🔬

Today marks two years since the IDF recovered Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Ori Danino, Carmel G*t, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi, and Eden Yerushalmi, z"l, six hostages who were brutally murdered by Hamas in August 2024 after 328 days in captivity.

They were kidnapped on October 7, 2023. Five were kidnapped from the Nova music festival and one from Kibbutz Be'eri. They were held in tunnels beneath Gaza until Hamas took their lives just days before IDF forces reached them.

We remember them, mourn them, and hold their families in our prayers. May their memories forever be a blessing. 🕯️

As climate change drives water scarcity across the globe, a solution is being built on Israel's Mediterranean coast. Israel has launched a tender for one of the world's largest seawater desalination plants, with a planned annual production capacity of 400 million cubic meters (≈ 105.7 billion gallons) - equivalent to approximately 40% of Israel's total annual freshwater consumption by households and industry!

The facility will be built in the Emek Hefer Industrial Zone near Netanya in central Israel, covering an area of 20 hectares (≈ 49.4 acres), and is expected to be operated under a public-private partnership for 25 years. The project could also support the Prosperity Blue initiative - a proposed water-for-energy arrangement in which Israel would supply Jordan with up to 200 million cubic meters (≈ 52.8 billion gallons) of desalinated water annually in exchange for renewable electricity, with the UAE as a partner.

Israel has long been a world leader in water technology. This is what that leadership looks like in action. 🇮🇱💧

Dolly Parton, the singer who died Tuesday at age 80 after a brief bout with cancer, was mourned around the world as a stellar songwriter, consummate country hitmaker, savvy entrepreneur and generous philanthropist.

In Jewish circles, she was also remembered as the inspiration for PJ Library, a program that sends free children’s books to Jewish families in order to foster Jewish values and traditions.

In 2005, when Harold Grinspoon launched PJ Library, he took a page from Parton, who a decade earlier had started Imagination Library, a literacy program that mails free children’s books to families across the US.
