Trick or Treat Extended...

Trick-or-Treat hours extended

As always, we want to ensure we provide a safe and enjoyable Halloween experience for our families and children.

As such, after receiving feedback, our plan for this year will be to hold trick-or-treating from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on October 31st.

With the sun setting around 5:30 on that day, these hours will accommodate those who wish to trick-or-treat during the daytime and nighttime hours.

🍂 Indigenous Peoples’ Day seemed like a good day to take a walk around the pond and spend a little time appreciating the land, its history, and the natural beauty around us.

It’s also a reminder that the places we call home have stories that began long before us, and that recognizing Indigenous peoples, their cultures, and their enduring connection to the land matters.

Sometimes a walk outside is a good opportunity to slow down, reflect, and appreciate the world around us. 🌿

The Office of the City Clerk will again have extended hours on Tuesdays leading up to the November 3, 2026 State General Election. Beginning Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in addition to regular hours, the City Clerk’s Office will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. solely to assist anyone wishing to register to vote and to accept requests for absentee ballots. This shouldn’t need to be said; but here goes: DEATH THREATS ARE NEVER ACCEPTABLE. Period. I am not going to repost the tweets, it is unnecessary to propagate that garbage!

I do call on and expect Governor Kelly Ayotte and the leadership of the New Hampshire Republican State Committee and Manchester Republican Committee to unequivocally denounce this behavior and call for an end to this kind of rhetoric.

Threatening the lives of people simply because they belong to a particular group is not political discourse. It is dangerous and deeply unhealthy.

We can disagree. We can debate policy. We can have strong opinions. But there is a line that should never be crossed, and that line is threatening violence against our fellow human beings and elected leaders.

Words have consequences. Leaders, candidates, and public figures have a responsibility to make that line clear, regardless of whether the people being targeted agree with them politically.

Silence is not an acceptable response when death threats are being made. We should all be able to agree on that.
