Our "Little Lights & Big Hearts" program was a huge success!
Kids happily decorated Holiday gift cards to be given out to those in need through JFCS. After a round of dreidel and learning about giving, everyone left with a smile and a personalized Tzedakah box.

🌿 Torah Tuesday | Parshat Chayei Sarah

Sarah Imeinu's story reminds us that a person's influence doesn't end with their lifetime. When Yitzchak brought Rivkah into Sarah's tent, the three miracles associated with Sarah returned, bringing him comfort and showing him that her legacy would live on through the next generation.

What values, traditions, or lessons do you hope to pass on to the next generation? We'd love to hear from you in the comments!

📖 From the Desk of Rabbi Brodkin

This week, Rabbi Brodkin reflects on his time in Israel, the significance of Be’er Sheva in this week’s parsha, and the deep historical connection between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel.

Join us November 13–14 for a special Shabbaton with Ronnie Halibard as we explore our Jewish history and heritage!

Bnai Kids - Our new afterschool Jewish programming is open to all! Our first session included cookies and milk, and making fall crafts.

Then, we made Avraham Avinu's tent that was opened on all four sides to welcome guests. What a wonderful afternoon!

🌿 Torah Tuesday | Parshat Vayera

Avraham’s tent was more than a place to live. It was a place where everyone was welcome.

Even while in the presence of Hashem, Avraham paused to greet three travelers, reminding us that welcoming guests is a meaningful mitzvah and an essential part of Jewish life.

At Congregation B’nai Israel, we strive to follow Avraham’s example by creating a community where every Jew feels welcome, valued, and connected. 💙 There is a place for you here!

Do you ask, "How can I teach my children the joy of giving?" If so, join us for a Tzedakah Workshop. Our kids will decorate gift cards to be given out to families in need this Chanukah. Then they will learn about Tzedakah while making their own Tzedakah box, and "taste" how good it feels to help others!

📖 From the Desk of Rabbi Brodkin

Avraham's journey reminds us that our connection to Hashem is not only personal, but something we can share with others and pass on through generations.

This week, we reflect on how we can carry Avraham’s legacy forward by strengthening our connection to Torah, deepening our learning, and building a vibrant Jewish community.

From our new Everything Jewish: Central New Jersey Facebook group to the Genesis Project, adult Hebrew learning, and our upcoming November Shabbaton, there are so many opportunities to grow and connect at B’nai Israel!

📩 Want to read Rabbi Brodkin’s message every Friday? Join our mailing list by clicking the link in our bio and receive his weekly reflections straight to your inbox!

Shabbat Shalom!
