Pittie Posse Rescue And Sanctuary Foster based throughout Maine - We rescue pit bulls, rehab, train, and find them forever homes. Adopt a pit bull today!

Here at Pittie Posse Rescue & Sanctuary, we have 3 missions:

1. Rescuing pit bulls from unfit living situations in Maine and overcrowded shelters in high-kill cities across the country (pulling from locations that are overwhelmed, such as, but not limited to Gerogia.)

2. Rehabilitation and training of rescued dogs in our care so we’re adopting out dogs that have already completed basic obedienc

e. Lack of manners and difficulty training is one of the top reasons adopted dogs get returned.

3. To make the world a better place for animals: educate the public on the plight of the breed and model responsible dog ownership. We have a love for the misunderstood bully breeds and a passion to give them the love they deserve.

Introducing Will!

One of our ✨Georgia 14✨

We actually saved Will before we even landed.

He was one of the last dogs left from the previous week's euthanasia list. The shelter had given him extra time, hoping someone would step up for him.

But no one did.
So we knew we had to be that someone.

Will is around 2 years old, 40 pounds, dog friendly, and was described by shelter staff as one of the best boys around.

He will be ready to come to Maine in just a few weeks and is looking for a foster or forever home!

Tank would like to know why everyone keeps filling out applications for other dogs.

He has reviewed the situation extensively and has concluded that there must be some sort of administrative error.

Let's review the facts:

✅ Dog friendly
✅ House & crate trained
✅ Handsome enough to stop traffic
✅ Only 1 year old
✅ 60 pounds of cuddle bug

Tank does have one request: he'd like to get to know you before becoming best friends.

So he's looking for a calm home without small children where he can settle in, build trust, and show off what an incredible dog he can be.

Chance is around 6 years old and truly one of the good ones.

Loves other dogs, great with cats, and is both house and crate trained!

His only "catch" is that he needs a little time to get to know new people.

Because of this, we're looking for a home with children 12+ who can understand and respect his boundaries while he settles in.

Once you're in Chance's circle, though? You're in for life ❤

Chance spent SIX YEARS in boarding before coming into rescue.
And now he's in need of a new foster placement ASAP.

The thought of this sweet boy having to go back to boarding absolutely breaks our hearts.

Just when we thought our Georgia trip couldn't get any better...
Gandalf tested NEGATIVE for heartworm 🎉

That means this incredible, magical boy is finally cleared to come to Maine.

If you haven't heard Gandalf's story, grab some tissues...

Animal Control was called about a d**d dog lying in a vacant lot. When officers arrived, they thought that's exactly what they had found.

But Gandalf was alive ❤️‍🩹

Barely breathing.
Severely emaciated.
Covered in infected wounds from dog bites.

He fought through the pain. Through the neglect. Through the unimaginable circumstances that left him alone, suffering, in that lot.

Now he's ready for his second chance.

And after everything he's endured, he deserves a family who will spoil him rotten, shower him with love, and make sure he never knows suffering again.

Gandalf is around 4 years old, 60 pounds, dog friendly, and one of the sweetest souls you'll ever meet.
