Non profit 501[c][3] animal sanctuary in midcoast Maine. We share our animals with elder/needy people in private sessions. All donations are tax deductible.

We adopt elder/needy animals and provide them with healing encounters with people and music in The Healing Barn. Donations maintain all the animals with feed and vet care. Fundraisers are held throughout the year for emergency vet care and special needs. We do not take in animals and rehome them, all animals adopted in stay for life care. While we love that people want to visit, we are not operating as a petting zoo type farm, we are focusing on the healing communing of animals and people [especially elder people]. Requests for private healing visits are sometimes granted depending on the need and our schedule. Katherine maintains all the animals and does all the animal therapy visits without a salary or staff, so please understand her time is devoted to that, and also maintaining her art/writing. In the past week, a lone pigeon is perched on the roof when I do chores. I will admit, I first saw the lone pigeon the night that Captain Sparkle died. I did take notice. But the next day it was back and there were about 10 pigeons roosting on the same roof but way on the other end. The next day, today, there was the lone pigeon. I do feel it’s poignant and take him to be a scout or messenger of something. Not a bad message…but a scout type message. No matter what it is a beautiful site. Maybe he is related to Sky Potato. Maybe it’s Sparkle. Or as someone will undoubtedly say as they read this, maybes it’s just a bird. I don’t look for signs anymore like I did in my younger days (back then it usually always was about hooking up with the right mate 😑)…but I do think if one is open to spirit’s language they will begin conversing with line pigeons.

Pumpkin and Sylvie eating breakfast. About every 10 seconds they shove each other but Pumpkin has settled into life here well and I’m happy for that.
