At our 40th Anniversary Hero Gala, Society of Samaritans was honored to recognize Glenn and Lorie Addison of Magnolia Funeral Home as our 2026 Legacy of Light Honoree.

A Legacy That Lives On ❤️
What a truly special moment at our SOS 40th Anniversary Hero Gala last night as we welcomed back Ms. Mildred Ashworth, who faithfully served with Society of Samaritans for 20 years.

Following the passing of our founder, Ms. Judy Everett, Ms. Mildred stepped into leadership and helped carry forward the mission that began with one woman’s calling to serve her neighbors and share the love of Jesus.

Having her with us as we celebrated 40 years of hope, compassion, and community was a beautiful reminder that SOS is built on the shoulders of faithful servants who answered the call.

Thank you Ms. Mildred, for your years of dedication, your servant’s heart, and the legacy you helped to continue and create. ❤️

As you walk through the Hall of Hope Corridor at our 40th Anniversary Gala, be sure to stop by our Birthday Mission Moment Station, where you have the opportunity to bring a little extra joy to a child celebrating their special day.

For many children, a birthday cake and celebration are simple joys that can easily be taken for granted. But for families facing difficult circumstances, those moments are not always possible.
That’s where you can make a difference. 💙

At the Birthday Mission Moment Station, everything you need will be waiting for you to create a personalized Happy Birthday Blessing Bag for an SOS child. Choose a cake mix, icing, candles, balloons, and add a special handwritten card to remind them they are loved and celebrated.

Your small act of kindness will help create a big memory, a reminder to a child in our community that their birthday matters and they are valued.

Gorgeous cars, silent auction, vendors, concessions and proceeds go to provide meals for neighbors in need! ♥️

Come out to Unity Park tomorrow for the Rotary Club of Magnolia’s Car Show, benefiting Society of Samaritans!
We appreciate the support of Magnolia Rotary and our entire community, who continue to walk along side us as we care for our neighbors.
