Observed annually on August 26, Women’s Equality Day commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing some women the constitutional right to vote. More than a century later, women continue to experience voter inequalities due to disenfranchisement, barriers to access the polls, and restrictive voter ID laws.

Each year, WWN recognizes Women’s Equality Day with an event that honors the progress that’s been made while acknowledging persistent inequalities, at the polls and beyond, faced by many Wisconsinites due to their gender, race, ethnicity, age, religion, sexuality, ability, identity, and socioeconomic status.

Join us tomorrow, August 27, for our Women's Equality Day event. Together, we'll foster meaningful connections, celebrate changemakers, and explore this year's theme: Building the Next Generation of Leaders. 💜
