It's a full-circle story: a company once built by a chance conversation on a plane ("We never pass up an opportunity to have a conversation.") is now scaling into its next era, powered by AI and a newly hired Chief AI Officer.

Coming out of COVID and shifting to hybrid work, Earthling Interactive didn't need a full office anymore, but they still wanted something private and professional. StartingBlock fit perfectly.

"It fit perfectly for us at that time," says CEO John Samuelson. "And having some established, mature businesses in the mix was a nice difference."

The right-sized space did more than save on rent, it freed up capital to invest in people during a pivotal transition, and put Earthling in the hallway with founders across wildly different industries and stages.

Now, Earthling has outgrown that chapter. In April 2025, the company was acquired by Matthew Pletzer of Lift Consulting, and the two firms are moving under one roof on Madison's west side—a bigger space for a bigger, combined vision.

🔹 a keyboard-only test - navigate your site with only a keyboard and see where you get stuck
🔹 a screen reader - hear what your pages sound like

No one has a perfectly accessible website, and you don't need to be a developer to make progress. You'll walk away with a clear picture of how your site is doing and a few concrete next steps.
