Short answer?
YES — tipping is absolutely part of cruise culture and is always appreciated. 👏

Here are a few quick cruise tipping tips:

✔ Tip porters at the port when dropping off luggage
✔ Bring singles for easy tipping throughout the cruise
✔ Cruise staff LOVE $2 bills for keepsakes and collecting
✔ Tip bartenders early if you find a favorite bar 🍹
✔ Great tippers often receive faster repeat service
✔ Room attendants work HARD behind the scenes daily
✔ A small tip early + a thank-you at the end goes a long way
✔ Concierge and suite staff may receive additional gratuities depending on service level
✔ Kindness and appreciation matter just as much as the amount
✔ Remember — many crew members are away from family for months serving guests from all over the world 🌎

Most cruise lines also add daily gratuities automatically to your onboard account, but many guests still choose to give additional personal tips for exceptional service.

One of the MOST common cruise questions we get is:

“Do I need a passport to cruise?”

For most CLOSED-LOOP cruises departing from and returning to the SAME U.S. port, U.S. citizens can typically travel with:

✔ A valid passport
OR
✔ A certified birth certificate + government issued photo ID

BUT…
a passport is still STRONGLY recommended in case emergencies or unexpected travel situations arise while outside the country.
