Citizen of the Year:
Annette Johnson: Annette is a selfless businesswoman that is always giving back to this community. She has proven that women are just as capable of running multimillion dollar businesses with grace and compassion. She is a pillar of this community and a role model to the young citizens of this county.
Clyde Alexander: Mr. Clyde has played a key role in food giveaways for approximately 6 years. He has played a key role in supporting youth in the community youth in the background. He and his wife continually help those in need.
Don Ashley: Don Ashley is as invested in this community as they come. He is a proud lifetime resident of Madison, and has faithfully served the community at MCCB, Farm Credit, and Bank of Madison for nearly 40 years. Don's commitment to our local farmers and the agriculture industry is unmatched.
Iris Wesson: Iris has been actively volunteering in the community for years. She can be found at food giveaways, nursing homes, school events. She has personally mentored and supported several single moms. She is not only an example for the many young people she has invested in but also the adults in this community.
Isaac Newman: Not only committed to seniors through therapy but also a big staple for the sports community and kids within community
Kym Eggers: Kym shows outstanding leadership and is making a big community impact. Over the past year, she has united multiple non-profits through the game of bingo, creating a welcoming community that gathers twice a week to support important causes. Through her dedication, creativity, and generosity, Kym has shown what it truly means to give selflessly.
Merv Mattair: He has done wonders for the youth in Madison.
Richard Moser: Rich is an Animal Services officer here in Madison County, but his duty goes beyond the job. On his days off he has built dog houses for community members who needed a safe space for their animals. He helps maintain the area around the kennels and office to make sure it looks welcoming and presentable when the community comes to visit the animals for potential adoptions and takes pride in the work he does while he is working and in his off hours. He has also started a Non-Profit Dog Disciples to help support our MCSO-AS in ways they need, that cannot be done without non-profit help.
Steven Williams: Steven goes up and beyond to help the citizens of Madison County, whether he knows them personally or not. If they are in need, he is there to do whatever needs to be done. Madison County is blessed beyond measure to have Steven.
Tammy Stevens: She has worked tirelessly with legislators and agencies to make sure Madison has the best quality care right in their backyard. Her concern and why she works tirelessly is for the people of this community is to achieve the healthiest possible future at any season of life so they can thrive on their journey.
Non-Profit of the Year:
Boyz to Kings Inc "Preparatory Mentoring Organization": Boyz to Kings is a nonprofit mentoring program empowering young men through guidance, education, and mentorship. Focused on responsibility, respect, and lifelong learning, we aim to break the cycles of poverty and incarceration, fostering hope and self-accountability.
Christopher's Message: Our mission is to support those who are having thoughts of su***de, those who have been impacted by su***de, attempting or losing a loved one to su***de, and to collaborate not only with the local community and its leaders, but also on a national level, by increasing awareness, reducing stigma and providing data-driven education and techniques to prevent su***de.
James Madison Prep. HS: The vision of James Madison Preparatory High School is to empower students through learning by providing a diverse education that promotes the development of broader perspectives and the discovery of greater opportunities. The mission of James Madison Preparatory High School is to provide a rigorous college and career preparatory high school that promotes student ownership of learning through a content-rich curriculum emphasizing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Junior Auxiliary of Madison County: The National Association of Junior Auxiliaries provides support, resources and specialized training to its local Chapters so they may better serve their communities.
Madison Church of God: At Madison Church of God, you will find a welcoming church where you "Come as Friends, Leave as Family." Here we provide a worship environment for all ages and families. We have a variety of areas for you and your family to plug into- from youth and children to ladies and outreach projects.
Madison County Senior Citizens Center: The SCCM serves the 60+ age population of Madison & Jefferson counties. We are a congregate meal site with activities and offer many in-home services.
Madison County Youth Bassmasters: Madison County Youth Bassmasters is a program dedicated to teaching young anglers the art of bass fishing. Our Mission is to inspire the next generation of fishermen and women through fun, competitive events and hands-on learning experiences.
Suwannee Valley Humane Society: We are a limited space (no kill) shelter providing homes to adoptable cats and dogs, educating the public in the care and prevention of unwanted animals. The determination, dedication, money, and lots of hard work by many people and businesses through the years, have resulted in a better life for more than 6000 cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies
The American Legion Post 224: The American Legion is the largest U.S. veteran’s organization with more than 1.6 million members who strengthen the nation through programs, services and advocacy for those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, youth and communities.
