A Better Chance, or ABC, is one of the oldest national organizations of its kind, helping minority youth achieve their potential through education. Madison ABC is one of National ABC’s most successful and longstanding community school programs. For more than 45 years, Madison A Better Chance has transformed the lives of young people through education and has prepared participating scholars to tak

e positions of leadership in American society. The mission of Madison ABC is to provide academically talented minority youth the opportunity to have an outstanding secondary school education in preparation for college and life. Their four-year experience at Daniel Hand High School gives them the skills they need to excel in college and beyond. Madison ABC has an all volunteer Board of Directors that sets policies for the program and works to assure its success. Our annual Madison ABC picnic brought together scholars, families, board members, mentors, and friends to recognize a year filled with academic achievement, personal growth, and involvement in athletics, clubs, and other extracurricular activities.

Most of all, it was a chance to enjoy time together as a community and celebrate these remarkable young people who inspire us every day.

Congratulations to our scholars on another outstanding year! We can’t wait to see what comes next!

Madison ABC was honored to visit the Connecticut Legislature on Tuesday, April 28th, as guests of State Representative John-Michael Parker and State Senator Christine Cohen.

This meaningful experience gave our scholars a firsthand look at the legislative process while also allowing us to share the impact of our program with state leaders.

Thank you to Representative Parker and Senator Cohen for their hospitality and support. We hope to make this an annual opportunity for our scholars.
