Troop 471 Guilford CT

After 100 years of scouting in Guilford, Troop 471's membership could not be sustained, and the troop merged with another long running Guilford troop, Troop 474. Starting in January 2025, these scouts and scouters are members of the newest Troop, Troop 444, chartered by Guilford's First Congregational Church.

Any boys aged 11-17 that are interested in scouting are welcome to check out Troop 444.

Any girls 11-17 years old who are interested in Scouting America, formerly Boy Scouts of America, and the path to Eagle Scout are welcome to check out our all-girls linked troop, Troop 475, also chartered by Guilford First Congregational Church

Congratulations to 2 more young men from Troop 471 for completing their Eagle Scout/ eank this week.

Cooper's Eagle project entailed rerouting and improving a section of the Westwood Trail network for the Guilford Land Trust.

Mackinley's Eagle project involved locating, mapping and digitizing the location of all the veterans' graves in our town's Nut Plains Cemetery on behalf of the Nut Plains Cemetery Association and the Guilford Free Library, who host the digital do less.

We had a great day picking up Christmas trees with the boy scouts Guilford. We are doing it again next weekend. You can scan the q r code below or just bring your trees to bishops, or h 20 farms and donate what you can.

Greetings Troop 471 Scouts, Scouters, Alumni, and Friends!

As you may remember, when we celebrated our 100th anniversary last year, we announced that we would be creating special patches to commemorate it. Almost a year later, they're finally here! As a reminder, everyone who was registered with the troop at Thanksgiving of last year gets one patch at no cost, and additional patches are available for purchase at a cost of $5 each.
