We had an amazing celebration with our JAG (Jobs for America's Graduates) students at Milwaukee Alexander Hamilton High School (Milwaukee Public Schools) to announce and recognize this year's Career Association Officers!

The Career Association is a key part of the JAG program. Students are organized into teams to practice real-world workplace scenarios, governance, and organizational roles. Members also take part in national competitive events that showcase leadership, employability skills, and service-learning projects.

Over 50 JAG students came together to celebrate and enjoy a pizza party 🍕. Congratulations to our new officers! We can't wait to see what this new leadership brings this school year.

When Paul enrolled in the FoodShare Employment and Training (FSET) program, he had clear goals: find full-time work, secure stable housing, and build a better future.

One week later, he had a full-time job. 🎉

Paul faces some tough circumstances, but he’s driven, focused, and doesn’t let bad news slow him down. With help from FSET for gas vouchers, boots, and work clothes, he’s off to a strong start at his new job. Now he’s working with his FSET worker to find stable housing, with a new apartment (and eventually a new car) on his list of goals.

Paul’s journey is a reminder that progress begins with one step. 💙

When Makayla enrolled in our WIOA program, she was working as a CNA while attending NWTC. Financial aid had run out, and she worried she might not be able to finish nursing school. With help from her Career Services Specialist, Megan, she got support with tuition, textbooks, and mileage, plus guidance on budgeting, scholarships, and other resources along the way.

It wasn't always easy. She had to balance school, work, and family caregiving, and faced setbacks that changed her timeline. But she kept going. She earned her Practical Nursing credential, went on to complete NWTC's Associate Degree Nursing program and pass the NCLEX-RN exam!

Today, Makayla is a Registered Nurse at Prevea's OB-GYN clinic, earning nearly three times more per hour than when we first met her. 💙 We are so proud of you, Makayla!

Mona's determination and resilience just earned her a place in HCST history! As a March 2026 graduate of our Highway Construction Skills Training (HCST) class, she became the program's ninth graduate of the year to earn a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). 🎉

After six months of intensive training with HCST, Mona headed to Fox Valley Technical College for a five-week Behind-the-Wheel CDL program. Through every challenge, she kept her work ethic strong and her eyes on her goal of building a career in construction.

At FVTC, she celebrated by "Ringing the Bell," a tradition that marks a big milestone. For Mona, it was the start of a new chapter as a professional Class A CDL driver. 💙

After a stretch of unemployment and unpredictable schedules, Ian knew he needed more than just another job — he needed stability for his family. He already held a valuable asset, a Class A CDL, but needed the right support to turn it into lasting career growth.

Once enrolled in our WIOA program, Ian got to work with his Career Services Specialist, Ilia. Together, they tackled career assessments, a full resume overhaul, and a strategic job search built around his goals: predictable hours, room to advance, and long-term security.

When a promising job offer fell through, Ian didn't let it derail him. He pivoted and landed a full-time Tow Truck Driver position, complete with weekly pay and full benefits. 💪

Ian isn't stopping there. He's currently pursuing an employer-funded WreckMaster certification to move into heavy-duty recovery operations — and he's helping his wife enroll in WIOA this fall to pursue her own credential in project management.

Ian's story is a powerful reminder: with the right support, one credential can become the foundation for an entire family's future. 🙌

One mistake changed Gerard’s life—but it didn’t have to define his future.💪

After incarceration, Gerard connected with our Pathways Home program and began rebuilding. The program helped him find housing, improve his resume, reinstate his driver’s license, and get the CNA uniform and transportation support he needed to get back to work.

Today, Gerard is working as a CNA 🩺and is grateful for the support that helped him move forward.

When barriers made it hard to continue in his previous career field, Ryan didn't give up — he leaned into his strengths. With experience in management but no formal credentials to back it up, Ryan worked with his W-2 case manager to explore a new direction that built on what he already knew.

That path led him to our Office Professionals Training. 💻 Despite a few bumps along the way, Ryan pushed through and completed the training, adding valuable office skills to his growing toolkit.

And he isn't stopping there. Ryan is now connecting with our WIOA team to pursue postsecondary education, with his sights set on a degree and a future career in human resources or child development — with a special goal of working with children with disabilities. 💛

We can't wait to see him accomplish his goal!
